I got really pissed off and told one of the guys that if he gives me any more crap about where I park that ill just park by the door and load up my tools and he wont haveto worry about where i park my truck anymore. Word got back to my boss and he came out and apologised and said he was sorry. Its cool that the guy realised that he was being a D-bag but it still pissed me off. What the hell are you sopossed to do go buy an american truck and deal with all the problems? No thanks. I have only had the truck for a week but it seems like i get these wierd looks from guys in chevy/ford/doge trucks. Maybe its just me.

No. The Chevy Colorado did use the Isuzu Dmax chassis as its foundation. The rest of the truck is entirely GM. The same truck built in Louisiana was then rebadged BACK to Isuzu as the I-series. I had an I-280, and every part under the hood had GM stamped on it. I even had it serivced by the local Chevy dealer near where I work, as I literally drive by the place every day going to work.

In answer to the original post. People do not give me shit beyond the fact that I've been through WAY too damn many vehicles over the last few years. I've driven trucks sporting nearly every single badge on the grille. People know this, and don't have any comments for my current choice.

i gues i was oneof those ignorant people and now i am enlightened... i was under the impression that the inline 5 was an isuzu motor and the chassis was isuzu with gm using the design and building it here in the us. with their body. quickly thought about buying one when i found they had a small eight wedged into them... but was put-off by the interior space

Way too many people out there are hateing on everything. Everyone wants to talk about buy only American but that’s impossible these days. What the hell is 100% American anymore? Like another guy on here said look around your house how much stuff in there is American? Not much. I bought a Toyota truck because everyone I know that has one loves it and they all say the same thing, “never had to do anything but change the oil, change the bakes, and put gas in it”. That’s what I want. I sold my wife’s explorer three weeks ago and got her a Camry and then got this Tacoma to replace my 11-year-old F150. As long as these run like they should I will never go back.

Lol, I work in sales at a Nissan store and park my Tacoma on our lot all the time. If I only had a dollar for every customer that came into the store and asked "Hey how much is that grey Tacoma going for", I'd be rich! I started parking it in the back because too many people were trying to open it and peer into the cabin. I've never really received any crap about driving a Toyota. In my opinion, your boss is a bit of a tool;)

Yea im sure you are man. Its funny how the big three automakers have a recall like every other day and the media doesn’t even mention one thing but all of a sudden Toyota has a problem and that’s all you here about in the media. HMMMMMM do you think it has anything to do with the fact that the government owns GM? They would like nothing more than to see Toyota crumble hence all of the media pushing this whole recall business down our throats. What a joke!!

Your boss drives a Colorado, now talk about a real piece of shit. That Colorado is more foreign than the Tacoma. Besides he is way jealous that your Tacoma looks a million times better than his piece of crap. He should go buy a real truck for once.

The only reason Toyota is getting the press they are is because the goverment owns 51 percent of GM and they need the sales to go up and they need Toyota to lose their #1 spot. Typical goverment bullshit.

If your truck was assembled in California (now Texas), it will have more US parts than his Chevy Colorado. period.
