6 months with mine and maybe have gotten 5 comments from strangers, mostly on the color. Have noticed a lot of people eyeing it though.

When they said "nice trim" they weren't referring to the sport model, it was from leaving Great clips in the background.

Funny noticed this thread today. Just last night I got a "Nice Truck!" At the Wawa near me. Stock quicksand trd sport with all the crhome blacked out and A.R.E. cap being the only aftermarket on it.

    It felt nice.

Ya I think it's sometimes the lighting affects how people see it. When its cloudy the color is not that interesting and they pass right by but with Voodoo and SWB in the sun they pop. I think the SWB changes the most with the metallic flake that shows with light. I've seen some of the new Ram 1500s and Jeep models that have a similar light blue.

I occasionally cut through a public park area to get home which has a skateboard park. There are speed bumps, and since I am going slow, the skaters always turn to look at my cement Taco. I consider that a comment.

I was lucky that I got '17 with solid black... I heard 18 and up they have black with metallic flakes all over. I went to dealership 2 years after I got my '17.. I noticed metallic flakes on new Tacomas.. I went like.. "Blah" then walked away. Metallic isn't my style.

If I decide to get another Tacoma, I will get any solid color then go from there, such as cement, quicksand, etc. Which my current truck will be used for off road only. New Tacoma will be DD.

I used to be the same way with metallic but after I got my truck it grew on me. For me every other car on the road is just another basic color that looks the same. With the metallic the color sometimes looks dark then light and those changes make it interesting and sets it apart from other cars. I can tell you that I've never had a hard time finding my truck in the parking lot.

Several owners i've run into all like the tacoma, but hate my trucks exterior color. I've had it called a grey poupon mustard bucket to the wife calling it a zoo truck. Instead i get compliments on the interior. I guess you can't please everyone. At any rate i like it, and thats all that matters.

I think Quicksand looks damn sharp. Although I see many Tacos on the road very few are QS. Don't have to tell you about opinions.

Never. Nothing special about the truck or these trucks in general and they’re everywhere anyway.

My Lunar Rock Tacoma has received a handful of compliments in just a few months. The less common flat colors (LR, Quicksand, Cavalry Blue, Cement) tend to really stand out on the OR and Pro trims, I think. I have only added a Retrax bed cover, mud flaps, and have a solid exterior 'chrome delete' deal going.

Part of the Tacoma's popularity is that it looks good. It's no less truck-y in appearance, but more sculpted than most other mid-size trucks. Folks (myself included) aren't buying them because of plush interiors or smooth ride. They drive well off pavement, hold up better than average, can haul a bit, and look good doing it.

I had a 66 gto back in the day that was a similar type color, but every time i use to pass this one home, it had what looked like a mint 2001, or so quicksand color tacoma always parked in the driveway. Thats the color i had to have when ordering mine.

My previous truck got TONS of compliments. It was a 2016 Quicksand OR DCSB M/T. Stock as stock can be. It was truly my first auto love. Wrecked her two months ago today.

But Friday, finally got her replacement. And it's a beauty too! Gotten four-five compliments in two days. '22 Barcelona Red Sport DCSB M/T.

Hardly ever receive any feedback or compliments on my truck, wether that’s when it was stock or now. I however do live in the south where it seems if you don’t drive a 3/4 ton diesel that you never even use as a truck then you aren’t a “real truck owner”.

Funny enough though, when I had the current tires installed (34’s) my parents had to borrow it and they said someone saw them park, walked over and started asking all about it. They obviously had very few if any answers to his questions.

Regardless, I bought my truck for me, I modify it to my preferences and honestly don’t care what anyone thinks about it. Even the majority of the mods it has are seen as lame on this forum, but again, it’s my truck not anyone else’s.

Blazing Blue Pearl for the win!!! Best colour, hands down. And I am not biased in any way. I get compliments, most say 'nice truck.' Some say 'nice colour'.

My Quicksand is stock, save for some minor aesthetics, but I have gotten a ton of compliments on it....mostly due to its color. Funny, it happens most often at Home Depot for some reason. My wife calls it baby shit brown....who knew?
