Happens to my gf all the time. If she borrows my truck, she almost always come home and says "someone stopped me and asked questions about your softopper". Granted she's a babe....so babe driving a taco equals mega babe.

My truck gets a lot of stares and people turning their neck to look at it when I'm driving down the road. (mostly from other Toyota drivers)

There was a new Frontier Pro4X parked in a visitor space at work last week. My coworker commented, did you see that new Tacoma TRD Off Road parked out front?[IMG]

I said, are you talking about the Nissan?

Tell your wife, quicksand is military color. I am sure some vets get Tacoma in this color or Army Green. Quicksand is also hunting color too.

When I take the tailgate panel off that I plan to install 'cutting board' type of panel in, I noticed inside is little bit darker than quicksand... I was like huh? I thought it should be all black all the way around. I mean inside and outside before all the parts assembled on assembly line. I told a friend of mine that that color looks like military color.

If you want to see what I mean, open the tailgate on your truck and take the screws out and then take the panel off... you will see the color inside. It could be dark shade of quicksand or some color on your truck.

Yeah...it kind of surprises me. I get a lot of folks on here asking about the non-existent lift. In person, most think it's a brand new truck.

Only got it six weeks ago. Changed the steelie wheels out two weeks ago and got the graphics finished same time. Only two complements so far.

Don't care if I don't get anymore...cuz I love it and that's all that counts.

Tacoma - it's like a tribe, a cult, a brotherhood - I wonder if Nissan and Ford and Ram owners
feel the same as we do.

I look at all the rest ( including straight up cars ) and realize I made the best decision of the last 30 years,
and hopefully the next 30 years.

It's a platform, like an AR15 - you can add to or take away and make it yours.

It looks like... a truck - capable, reliable, classic, clean.

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
I feel you on the best decision. I'm not sure the other truck guys you mentioned feel the same that we do, but the Jeep/Gladiator guys seem to, and we tend to play well together.

Out here in Bumfuk Kansas where I live most everything's a full size whatever with a flatbed or some horse/cattle trailer pulling diesel full-sized. So yeah, I get questions and compliments on it pretty frequently. My truck!.jpg

Nope, tacos are everywhere. And it doesn't get much more boring than a silver taco with lame ass chrome bumper caps.

Thats true, they are everywhere here, and silver is the most common color. Imo, chrome bumper caps are ok. I just wish they used more chrome.

Perhaps it’s a pick up line. Kidding….yes, we get it too.
