Don't know, don't care, cuz my last truck only gave me 11 mpg, So Tacoma is the best i've ever gotten with any truck. only have that to compare it to.

I'm in agreement with him, former truck was a 1985 Ford F150 2 wheel drive with the 351W HO, I could get maybe 9 MPG if I did almost all highway driving and not getting above 55 MPH. So my 2009 Tacoma 4x4 with many more amenities and quite a bit more comfortable getting 18 or so MPG, is great!

Well, my 99 Tahoe got an average of 17mpg highway up till I started modding it. Some of the new ones are rated at over 20. All I'm saying is Toyota didn't make mileage there priority when developing these trucks. When they developed the second gen fuel mileage wasn't the big thing, bigger trucks with more power was the trend. I'm sure the next generation Tacoma will have great mileage as this is the new priority for manufacturers.
