Do the hubs on 2nd gen Tacomas unlock?

    Do the hubs on the 2nd gen Tacos unlock completely when you are not in 4 WD as with models with hubs that lock and unlock manually? Thanks in advance.

    Thanks jandrews, I'd prefer manual locking hubs but it seems that's no longer an option.

    It does not spin much more though. It just disconnects it in the front differential instead. So the front axle stumps spin with the wheel but that's it.

    After I get my Taco, I definitely won't be upgrading to manual hubs. Stock is good as far as I'm concerned. From what I've read on this site, the Taco makes damn good fuel economy compared to my /76 Ford. Even with my hubs unlocked that sucker definitely is thirsty. I'm hoping to unload the Ford before summer.
