    Ok so I have a 06 prerunner, but I had 3 4x4s before and now I am drooling for a 2nd gen 4x4 because I only owned the 1st gen 4x4

I want to know if toyota made tacomas that are 4 door, 4x4, with a manual transmission, with a long bed(6 foot bed).

Also if they were sr5 or trd and any other editions.

Please let me know, I am desperate to find out.

Once again looking to see if any 2005-2011 tacos come with

    1. 4x4
    2. long bed
    3. manual transmission
    4. 4 door

    Thanks in advance...:)

They do indeed make manuals in the double cab (I have one) But they only come in the short bed pattern.

You'll have to figure out which one of those 4 choices you can live without having.

The dealer is lying to you. The automatics are available in both short and long bed, whereas the manual is only available in short

Basically you can have(for DC): Double Cab Auto with Long bed, Double Cab Short bed with manual, or Double Cab Short bed with Auto.

So... what's the difference in JUST THE BEDS between long, regular and short. Can I get a dual cab with a real 8 foot bed? or do they have 2 different 6 foot beds and name one "long".

In the double cab, there is only Long and Short. 5.5 feet and 6.5 feet.

Personally, I would like to have the longer bed over the shorter bed, but I deemed that a manual shift was more important than bed size.

There is only two bed sizes, long and short. One is 5 and the other is 6.

Long bed 6" can only come in automatic.

So regular is 6.2 or something and long is 6.5. and short is like for little girls and dwarves.

and "long" is still "short" in american truck terms. BY LONG HELD definition.

Where I went to school, a long bed was 8' and a short bed was 6'
    That is old-school though. ;)

    There is no "regular".

Think of the "long bed" as the regular.

you're right it's "standard bed". Not available on the DC but in general...

So standard and "long" are just about the same?

from what i understand manual dbl cabs are NOT offered in california .... and its illegal to import a vehicle from another state that has less than 7500 miles on it ... so if dbl cab manual is really your thing you may have to buy used.

wow guys great feedback. I appreciate all the news. Sucks but oh well. I love manual so I might have to give up the bed or the 4 doors. Especially since I am tempted to supercharge it.

No... they're not available anywhere. Try to make a 6 speed double cab.. the little I pops up "conflicts with bed", then switch the bed "conflicts with double cab".

Then that would be location specific, and you would have to actually go into a dealer and cehck it out for yourself.

i decided the same. The manual trans. is great and the short bed though ragged on alot, can still fit a good amount of haul in it.
