Do they include the original lug nuts with port-installed wheel locks

Hey Everyone,

Expecting delivery in a week or so. In my prep instructions, I asked the salesperson to remove the (port-installed ?) wheel locks and replace them with the original lug nuts. He said he couldn't because the originals aren't included with the truck. Is he right?

 

Well of course they didnt ship the truck with spare lugs... but gee, its not like the dealership has a little room in the back completely full of parts, they could even name it something snazzy, like the parts counter or something, and that is where they would gladly exchange a lug for the more expensive wheel locks, if only the salesperson was capable of a single coherent thought so he could think up such a thing.

 

My sales person gave me the packaging for the wheel locks - with the factory lug nuts in the package!
Maybe its a Canadian thing..

 

Same with my Subaru - they were in the glovebox. That's why it sounded odd.

 

I got the package for the locks with the original lugs inside as well

 

Mine were in the glove box along with the key

 

my 2020 Rav4 Hybrid I had came with wheel locks. During my service visit, I asked if I could have them swapped for regular lug nuts. They told me it was $20 per lug nut LOL
I kept the locks till I traded it in on my 21 Tacoma

 

Mine were in the bag with the Jack.

 

Dealer gave me the lock lug nuts in its sealed package. I installed them myself at home.

 

2021 TRD pro bought new last week. It came with black wheel locks installed and no extra lugs.

I was pleasantly surprised as I expected to have to buy locks.

 

For port installed, yes. They keep them. Dealer installed is a different story. I would ask them to just put the locks on a truck without them and offer it as a gift to the buyer.
