I noticed jeep guys always throw that little two-finger wave at each other when they pass on the road.

& I pass plenty of other Tacos around Texas and… nothing.

Not saying we need a whole secret handshake or anything, but kinda surprised we don’t have a casual “hey, I see you. Nice rig.” gesture.

Anyone here actually wave at other Taco drivers? Or is that just not our vibe?

    I agree with the “no”’s

Although I will say that occasionally when I pass another modified Tacoma or 4runner, the driver will wave at me.

So we can have a whole forum full of builds, mods, and taco love... but throwing up a wave is where we draw the line?

Jeeps are a bit of a cult.
Imagine having to get your buddies permission to go off roading so you can line up nose to tail and follow the leader like kindergarden and your promotion / rank is determined in ducks.

    upload_2025-6-23_12-20-59.jpg

A wave, a salute, a nod, toss a soy patty at them. Nah. I'm good.I like you guys and I'll wave to be friendly because I do that to everyone. But a Tacoma wave? This isn't Simon Says. This is SPARTA!

We aren't that special. Lifted Tacomas are as common as seeing a squirrel in a tree.

Talk to me about waving when your vehicle has fewer than 4000 units sold per year, and not 20,000 units per month.

Once in a while I get an unsuspecting Jeep wave while I'm in my FJ. :humble:

I usually wave to people I pass while on a trail (very rarely on the street though). Jeep people are something else though... Seems fewer than half return the wave when I'm driving my Tacoma, but I'll get a wave back 70-80% of the time when I'm in my old beat-up Bronco II. Go figure... lol

I think the guys in the Ineos Grenadier just wave $100 bills at each other and leave little jars of Grey Poupon on each others trucks.

Rubber ducks are for bath time, I don't know what they represent nor do I care. I did have a guy tell me about the Taco wave he seemed like a cool guy. I didn't mention TW but I think he may have already known.
