Do we need new oil drain plugs every time?

    Stock again- rip slug
    same reason you wouldn't use ur own torque spec on lbjs. to each their own tho, ur vehicle is not mine

    I've never torqued down an drain plug on any vehicle. Never once had an issue. That's 27 years of non issue.

    30 ft-lbs isn't that much. Just playing with a beam wrench and a 3/8" ratchet it was pretty easy to hit.

    Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    I second this !! though in my case closer to 45 years .

    When torquing the oil drain plug does one wait till the oil pan is completely drained to make sure the threads are completely dry as well as the drain plug oil on the threads will give you a false reading

    Although one time I did forget to put the plug back in at all only two quarts till I heard it hitting the floor.

    Though I hear stories about those quick drain valves so easy to open if some one wants to mess with your equipment.
