I did mine today. I'm sure it was the first time for this truck. (43k miles). The truck does look really good right now, but I can't say that I think it looks any better than a good wash and wax. Perhaps mine just didn't need it in the first place.

After washing, a 50oz bar did the whole truck and is still practically clean. Threw on a good coat of polish after. Didn't hurt anything thats for sure, but can't say I thought it did much.

I clay barred and then put on some good old paste wax when I brought it home. What good would more clay bar do?

I clay bar my truck about every other month or so. I love the way it feels after being clay barred and waxed. Just washing and waxing leaves the vehicle with a very fine roughness to it, that using a clay bar removes.

I even clay bar the windows, it removes all the junk that washing does not remove. The wipers work a lot better after doing that.

It takes me about an hour and a half to clay bar the entire truck, including the roof (when I don't do the roof, I notice it every time I wash it).

I plan to. But I don't want my wife and daughters thinking I am obsessing about my truck!

My wife's 'arrest me' red 08 VW has sort of swirls in the paint (I think from the automatic car-wash). Does the clay bar help on those?

I did it a while back for some stuff that wouldn't come off. Looked like bird piss. Anyway, it came off really well and I put a coat of wax afterwards. Looks good. I wouldn't want to do a large section though.

I clay both of my trucks once a year. Here on the Big Island, we have a lot of acid rain from the volcanic gases in the air and that really damages car paint. The clay removes some of the smaller spots and makes the paint feel soooo smoooooth!! :D
