I don't know. My dealer will pick up and deliver the truck when its done. Since I have another vehicle and a bike I usually would not need a loaner. I likely would drive it there drop it off and pick it up the next day or two.

I don't expect too much because

    1. I bought used
    2. I bought it 100 miles away at a competitor.

^ a little of this would go a long way for me at this dealership.

i tried to buy my truck from the local dealer, but they wouldn't budge from sticker price so i went elsewhere. i do (did) patronize them for parts/filters/etc. and even non-warranty service on my last truck.

My dealer gives out a loaner or a shuttle where ever you need to go. The only time I stay is for the basic oil change stuff. Other than that They always give me a car to take. Jim Barkley Toyota in Asheville NC, they are good people.

I've had different experiences at the two local dealerships.

Sometimes they give me a loaner, sometimes they'll shuttle me back to work, and once they offered neither. I don't go to that dealership anymore.

The dealers I go to take you to work, home, shopping and pick up when truck is ready. This is for warranty or maintenance work. If warranty work takes more than one day you can get a loaner. Not sure on maintenance work because they have never had truck more than a few hours. Guess thats why I drive a Toyota.:D

I'm getting the leaf TSB, the blower TSB and my 5k service done tomorrow and they're giving me a loaner. probably a '99 corolla but it gets me to work without having to bother my wife so i'm happy.

They told me when I bought it that I would get a loaner bc I bought from them, if I bought elsewhere I would be on my own. No loaner for minor work though.

Most items covered under factory power train would not entitle you to a loaner.
If fixed under limited bumper to bumper then yes a rental or loaner should be provided.
the dealer will get reimbursed for the cost of the loaner if a warranty item.
some dealers have courtesy cars that dont cost them anything to give out.

    btw hey Charlie!

it is a warranty fix, that's why i'm puzzled at their reluctance.

as far as "you didn't buy it from us, so no loaner" as some have mentioned...i call BS. say you lived in CA in '08 and bought a vehicle, then moved to Seatle this year...does that mean you have to drive back to Cali to get a courtesy car while having warranty service done?
