You don't have to do anything. Leave it in 4WD when you park. You don't have to shift to neutral after disengaging. It won't hurt. Solenoids don't care. You don't have to do the chicken dance, run over coconuts and limes or move your weiner from right to left. You can also drive under a ladder, over a mirror and let a black cat run in front of you with no adverse affects.
