Just wanted to show what i did for my Apple CarPlay. I bought i usb to usb connector and used one of the blanks to connect my iphone . I hate wires running everywhere. I bought a really short lightning cord with a 90 degree connector and have my magnetic phone mount 781D8465-DAFA-4DB5-9570-FD356D2755EF.jpg

Late reply, but another happy owner with a Sony XAV-AX5000. Biggest negative is the plastic cover for the screen. It's not a nice hard glass like a phone. But as for value, it's worth every penny. Google maps alone plus Spotify make travel so much nicer.
