My favorite revolver is a Taurus defender 38 special, also have a model 85 that is very easy to carry almost everywhere.

That's one of the nicer "Smolt" hybrids I've seen. Did BD remove the checkered rib from the S&W barrel and affix it to the Python rib? The vented rib looks pretty good on a revolver, one thing I've always liked about the Python. However, I've always felt the Model 27 S&W was the superior .357 revolver. I guess I'm prejudiced, I have an as-new M27-2.

I bought a Model 57 a few years ago, a mid-'60s model that someone had added an aftermarket vented rib to. It looked pretty good, but I generally want my S&W's in their factory original configuration, so I eventually removed the rib, once I figured out I could do it without damaging the gun's finish.
    With the rib:

    and without it:

So far…. Added fog lights swapped halogens to led’s, interior lights to led’s, bed lights added, led/strobe brake lights, trying to figure out the right leds for turn signals.
S&W 357 magnum, 5” barrel, shoots smooth and true, barrel doesn’t walk

So Bill Davis figured out that S&W could be manipulated into a fast accurate trigger and the python had the best forcing cone and riflings. He also built speed sixes from Ruger using similar colt barrels. There were a lot of people using these in competition. I used to see his guns everywhere but now I never see them. Once cops started using semi autos his guns fell out of fashion.

I carried a model 57 hunting for years now I carry a Glock 20: same ballistics as the 41 magnum with 15 rounds instead of six. There are wolves where I hunt and they have figured out that a single shot is a dinner bell. So I have been warned.

On its best day, 10mm is equivalent to .357 Magnum, but can't approach .41 Magnum. I had a G20 from its first release in 1992 up to a couple of years ago, when I sold it and bought a 1911 chambered for 10mm. I like 10mm a lot, never really warmed up to the Glock, though. I reload for both, and a hot 200 grain 10mm will go about 1175-1200 fps, but you can get over 1400 fps in a 210 grain .41M. The SD's are almost identical, but the extra velocity of the .41M far exceeds the 10mm in energy. You do have the advantage in the 10mm by not having to reload as often, and it is more than sufficient for wolves and Yotes.

I’ve always liked Ruger revolvers. I have several. My first revolver oh so many years ago was a Ruger SS (security six). It’s still my favorite.

I should have said the loads I use are about the same. 600 foot pounds. I’m not trying to kill a grizzly like the Alaska hunters. The 41 is capable of 750 foot pounds or more of kinetic energy. 10 MM can’t play in that park. I like the additional rounds. To tell the truth i worry about the 2 legged coyotes more than anything……

I still have mine and bought my son one for his first revolver. Just a solid gun and accurate.

Picked up a Galco leather ammo case. Beautiful craftsmanship. Great revolver gear. Snap onto your belt, or carry in your pocket. IMG_2497.jpg IMG_2498.jpg

My favorite is the model 10 in the middle, if I had to pick one gun to keep that’s it.
