Can't live without it as I drive to Illinois from South Carolina several times a year. Installed OEM in my 2.7...can't believe it is not standard on all vehicles now.

according to your scanguage???? i wouldn't trust that at all - how about just simply dividing your miles driven by that amount of gas you refill with (including a potential adjustment for tire size)?? that number must've been lower?

His mileage isn't that suprising , I average 19.5 US MPG with almost no highway driving in my DCLB Sport with a lift and a cap

Tap the cruise control up for a +1 mph bump in speed. Tap twice to go up +2 mph and so on. It's easy to dial it in to get the exact speed you want.

    :)

I found it interesting that there is a low threshold for the use of CC. While goofing around in the desert I probed the system at slow speeds (5-10mph) but was not able to activate the system. Perhaps you found the lower limit.

On my trips back to Nebraska i like it in the flats...any hill though and you get the annoying dropping a gear for half a second then off then on etc etc

Other than that though i love cruise. My old car didn't have it and road trips sucked!

Seriously...how can this not be a standard feature from a car company that touts its strides in fuel efficiency? Granted, it was easy enough to add to the truck, but still!

Oh well, rant over. I still love you Toyota.

With my 6-speed it's awesome, it doesn't go crazy and shift for me haha if I don't get caught behind traffic on hills, I can go from Flagstaff to Tucson (College in Flag and girlfriend in T-town) without ever touching the pedal, shifting or anything. For a 4 hour drive, that's pretty damn good.

If anyone has ever done that drive, they know the mountains between Flag and Phoenix can be a bitch. I'm still surprised I can do the entire Verde pass in 6th gear.

    I love to cruise.

Last year I had a chance to drive an Audi A8. It had adaptive cruise. It has radar that detects the speed and proximity of a car in front of you and it'll automatically throttle down based on the amount of preset tailgate distance you choose.

No barreling behind a slow vehicle and having to suddenly braking or reducing/turning off cruise.

I also wish Toyota would put the cruise controls on the steering wheel across from the volume buttons.

I just drove from Paris to Nuremberg today, it took quite a few hours but cruise control at 100mph was awesome on the autobahn and just in case you were wondering, yes you can go 120mph+ in the 4.0v6 6spd. I had to check it out for myself. It was climbing the hills of Bavaria like a champ, no shifting gears. I can't for Oktoberfest. Jealous, right?

X2. There's no way I can drive 40 mph on a straightaway that should be 50 or 55 - it's just a revenue producer for the town.
