Even though I hardly ever use it because I'm often paying attention to the engine load display and wondering how many mph I can sacrifice up a little hill to save my mpg, I wish I had it. There comes a time about 2 hours into a trip where my legs just start to ache and I want to move them around but cannot. Only options are pull into a rest stop and walk around for a while, or wait until a big downhill and throw 'er into neutral for a few seconds.

I know the taco's cruise is terrible. In some cases it might as well be the old auxiliary throttle cable that came in the '40s and '50s automobiles. Still, I would like to have it.

Now my Fit's cruise, that thing was dead nuts on all the time. It didn't do any load fluctuation like the toyota's like to do either. Such a perfect calibration even the Borg would love it.

I LOVE cruise control and usually set it on the ON ramp.... I'm always running with it on, even in heavy traffic...it's easy to control your speed with a "tap" up or a "tap" down.....

The one thing about the Taco's cruise it that it's WAY TOOOOO agressive...!!

It will not let the speed drop more than 1-1 1/2 Kms / hour or so without a violent downshift and a "gas guzzling" accelleration....

I talked to the dealer and asked if I could "tame" the beast a litle... answer..NO... "It's in the computer and we cannot adjust it".... CRAP..!!

I'm hoping Toyota engineers are reading this.... I need to be able to tone this thing down....!!!

Other than that agressiveness.... I love cruise control...I use it all the time on my motorcycle and car as well.....

    Toodles... Over60

I never knew how much I liked having cruise till driving a 99 Tacoma 4 cyl/5 Speed for a year without it. I dreaded taking any kind of road trip over a couple of hours. I definitely do not see my owning another vehicle without it because its a total PITA to me having not drive and not be able to rest my feet like I would like.

I like it, just not a fan of the surging and downshifting when going up and down hills. This can sometimes be a problem as I typically set it for 5 above the speed limit so the sudden 5 mph surge is not cool. However, having cruise control for long road trips is nice as I no longer have to hold down the accelerator for extended periods of time which led to a deadleg in my previous non cruise control equipped car.

That looks scary to me: I can see tires shredding after slipping into the cracks in the culvert liner.

I would easily trade for heated mirrors, lights on ALL the dash switches and knobs or maybe even auto-up/down windows. But I'm just cranky this morning.

3300 mile trip across the country and I think I only used it for a minute or two to allow my legs to stretch.

Oh and when I hit oregon, I used it almost all the way to prevent me from speeding... brutal! haha

I like cruise control on long trips, for highways, or interstates. Also works great when you hit the speed traps in small towns to keep you under the radar of the local Andy Griffith trying to make his quota. But I have a 6sp manual so I don't have to worry about down shifting when I dont' want it to. In my '95 Tacoma 5spd I would have to cancel it towards the top of a hill because it would stay in the gas over the top of the hill and push me to almost 10mph over the set speed which was annoying. I'll be moving cross country by the end of this year and I get the feeling it wil be a life saver on the long flat stretches of the midwest...

A little of this and a little of that.
My '98 Tacoma didn't have cruise control. I really like having it on my '11.
