I’ve been using my cruise a lot lately on a 2000 ft climb I do regularly up to a mountain pass. 3rd gear on the way up at 57mph is about 3500rmp. 4th gear on the way down at 57mph works perfect with the engine braking. The speed limit is 50mph so no worries about getting a ticket since there are always people passing me heading up and down. The NHP is always stopping speeders on this road. As stated in a previous post, cruise with a manual is a great setup.

But you shouldn't stop lovin' the CC, just start hatin' the asshats. Yes, the CC really makes them stand out. It's like watching an accordion. The accordion of ignorance. No wonder gas demand is so high.

Probably the single most frustrating thing about the long road trips I take each summer.
3rd time they try pass me I abruptly move into the passing lane, seems to wake them up.

The manual has a better setup, in that you can use whatever gear you please, unlike the auto.

I don't know how to take a long road trip without it, or drive in the dead of night without it. I wish my commute was not so short and I could use it more often.

Tinted Windoz, TruXedo, Toytech lift, beefed sliders, got winch.
I have a love hate relationship with my cruise. Being Instrumentation and controls guy myself I would love to be able to retune it, so it would not be so quick to drop a gear when on a small hill. Let the speed drop by about 5 mph first. I usually end up giving more gas to the pedal once I start to hit a hill. The cruise did get worse after the lift and 33's.

I will give the cruise control a workout tomorrow and Sunday. A buddy of mine and I are travelling from Northern Virginia down I-81 to Brisol Motor Speedway for the Nascar Sprint Cup race.

I found that using it before and after the addition of the supercharger its better, it usually does not downshift now, but going up in high elevation its useless

I love my cruise control... Seems to drop 2-3mph on a hill, but quickly gets back to the set speed. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
