Hi All, I am just curious who all names their vehicles, and if so, what is your reason behind it?

I've never named one, but most of my family does, just poking to see people's reasoning

No. I don't name my vehicles. Never got into that. I call it my Taco for short. That's about as far as I go.

People that talk to their vehicles and name them are fucking weird but then again, they probably wonder what the hell is wrong with me for not naming my rig.

Haha well I call it that in jest. I picked out the exact truck I wanted. One day I may start a thread for how my SR Utility package is superior to other Tacoma models for use as an actual truck hauling stuff in the bed and in the cabin. That should be a fun thread.

Funny, I hear all Dodge owners name their truck that.

People in Montana seem to disagree. It's all about diesel trucks and cummins has the reputation up here. Used cummins go for more than most new trucks. Granted, there is also a FORD diesel fanboy thing going on up here too.
Regardless, they all have to let you know off the line at every stop light.
    So fucken cool.
TBH tho, if US Toyota offered a diesel Tacoma, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

But on the subject... I couldn't name my truck out of respect for it. I think once it matures it will name itself. Like how natives get their names...
This is "riding bull" because he rode a bull into battle.
My truck will do something glorious during battle and it'll just happen naturally.

I haven't named a car since I totaled my 2000 Grand Cherokee Sport back in 2014.... seems easier not to be emotionally attached anymore. Too hard to say goodbye to Betsy. RIP.

Then again my sister named her first car Chuck the Truck. Seemed appropriate for a single cab, bench seat, 2002 no frills Silverado 1500.
