It's a hit or miss, you won't know until you go to get an alignment.

    Like he said, it depends.

When I set mine at the top notch, it was really squirrelly, and the tires were toe in and even alignment guy said that I could not get the toe to 0, meaning the corners of my tires were going to get eaten alive real quick.

So I just went and lowered it to 1.75 until I got some new UCA's. That's just my experience.

    not toe... caster.

toe is very adjustable... caster on the otherhand is the reason why aftermarket UCA's are needed.

I opted for them after discovering how bad the truck wanders on the highway with a bad caster angle

Not a prob with my 17" OEM wheels and 5100's set at highest setting. Although the first time I got it aligned, the tech dude said he barely got it within specs. 60K miles later, at the 2nd alignment after a new set of tires, they didn't mention it. Could be the springs sagged just a bit to not cause a prob. My tires are 265/70 R17 and they rub very slightly when turning sharp. I have 1.25" wheel adapters. You will need adapters if you get tires wider than OEM else the upper spindle rubs on the inside of the tire. You should also get longer wheel studs for the front (the OEM wheels cover the longer studs nicely). No adapters needed for the rear. You might be able to use 285 tires but I hear you will have to do a little wheel well cutting.
My tires are wearing a bit uneven, but I'm pretty sure it's cause I need new bushings and/or ball joints.
