Hey all, I wanted to see who plows with their 2nd gen. I'm looking to outfit my '12 with a small plow for my property, and would love to see your setups and get your thoughts on their performance. Thanks!!

Thanks, I saw that thread the other day, which got me thinking more about plow setups. I did a search on the site and didn't find much of anything, so you're right, either not a lot of people are plowing with their rigs, or just haven't really posted on it.

How's Naugatuck doing these days? Grew up in Southbury, and moved out of CT about 20 years ago.

Naugy isn't as nice as it was 20 years ago - slowly going down hill and turning into Waterbury. I think the rich folks from Middlebury/Southbury/Woodbury are getting pissed as the exodus from Naugy is driving the middle class out there... I'd like to move out of CT completely. Anyway, I looked at plows for my '13 DCSB but haven't jumped yet. Too much for me to justify and the snow blower moves it further and doesn't make a big pile at the end of the drive. If I find one used, I'll probably spring for it.

I like the looks of that Meyer. Seems a bit more substantial than the Fisher homesteader. I priced a homesteader setup for my last Tacoma and it was like $3800. I suspect the Meyer may be about the same? As long as my old 89 Toyota keeps running and pushing snow the Tacoma will get spared from plowing duty. My driveway is way too big to attempt with a snowblower.

It looks like where the couplers are located they are pretty low. I think most guys would rip that thing apart wheeling. Also, can you use it on a lifted rig?

Yes the couplers are definitely too low for wheeling.. I haven't done any in many years... The truck is too nice to scratch... lol...

I got it at the preseason price 3799 installed.... I had a Polaris and 5ft plow before, selling that and getting this was a wash... I do about a 1/4 mile of road between my house and my parents...

Nice price, I have about about the same into mine and I installed it. I paid somebody to do the wiring. Smith Bros is all over the web. They seem like a great place to do business. I grew up close to them and have a friend a couple miles away.
I plowed a foot of light stuff a couple weeks ago and the the truck and plow did fine. I however have never plowed with a truck before (ATV only) and went pretty slow. There's about 6" on the ground now and at least 8" more to come. I'll get some pics in the snow soon. I put 5100's in front set at 1.75 and have about 550 lbs. of lead right up against the tailgate. I have air bags and I let most of the air out of them to get the front end up. There's a lot of weight on the front end and I don't drive around much at all with the plow on.

Great first time with the plow... No complaints, no regrets... The back-up camera is great too...

Did you do anything to the front suspension? How's the sag?

Nope... i wanted to see and feel it with the plow on first... drove the truck 20 miles from the place i had it installed... never bottomed out... still have a couple inches between the bump stops... i do have 300 ballast in the bed against the tailgate, which was recommended by Meyer's..

I read the forums for weeks trying to find a answer what to do before i got it.. i only do a few driveways, about a 1/4 mile of pavement so not much traveling... didnt want to change the ride with the plow off nor did i want to open the modification black hole... do this do that, lift this...

Everything worked well. I did the house first and then camp about 18 miles away.
