Do you put weight in back of your truck?

Yep. I have been meaning to get a piece that fits across the back of the bed and plasma some holes over the rear bed bolts and devise something to hold them in from there. I hate cluttering up valuable cargo room.

I have a canopy and a tool box inside my truck...so I have some weight. In the summer time I don't carry much except the box.

 

In snow driving, I put the spare back on for weight.

 

tractor supply has the tube sand, 60# on sale for around 5 bucks

 

How much does your mom weigh? That's how much I put in there....

 

I have a 4x4 and it does fine in the snow.

that's why people shouldn't cheap out and get pre-runner if they plan to drive in the snow

 

just because you have 4wd does not mean you can do 70 in 55 in snow. i have seen 4wd wreck in snow. also 4wd wont do shit on ice!! also i have seen 2wd do the same on roads. 4wd does help. but also slowing down and knowing how to drive in snow is the biggest thing!!

but i agree if you plain to drive in snow get 4wd. thats why i did.

I hate you guys, it's been over 100 degrees here this week!

 

Yup. I like 4wd just for the fact it gives me FWD for snow. Slush here tends to pull the front end. Ice and slush both make turns more difficult as the front end doesn't want to make the turn. Light tap on the gas in 4wd and the front pulls back into line. I've tried making turns on back roads after stopping at the intersection only to have the truck keep going straight. Quick blip of the throttle and the front pulls around like it's supposed to.

It also helps keep snow from piling up in front of the front wheels bringing you to a stop.

 

I just date fat girls in the winter and make 'em ride in the bed. Plus they keep you warm on a cold night.

You're welcome to try out some massive heat and humidity down here in the south eastern US. Yesterday it was 114 degrees with the heat index. Plus the hot roads give us better traction.

I didn't read through all of the thread, so I may have missed it, but does anybody use weight In the bed for just a softer ride? Regardless of snow or not?

i agree! I hate that it gets really cold but wont even come close to snowing! Soooooooo i never had weight to the back of my truck . . .
