I would say no. You have 4wd you will be able to accelerate as quickly as you need to.

Your tires are way more important than a couple hundred pounds in the bed. You live in ME you should probably get a proper set of winter tires. Not all seasons or all terrains.

I put my wife’s makeup bag over the rear axels. Small and compact but adds about 150lbs.

I use 2 x 70lbs sand bags. I do notice an improvement in traction on icy or wet days during winter on the stock OR tires.

I don't find it necessary with the Traction Control engaged.

I do the same I used to do in my old '85 Toyota truck when I lived in Colorado.. 2 5-gallon buckets with lids strapped into the back corners, one full of sand, the other rock-salt. Each with a scoop and lid in case I need to use them

No weight in the bed and I have driven in snow from an inch or two up to 2 feet of snow. 4WD and driving with some Common Sense helps more than weight in the bed...in my opinion.

I find that an extra couple hundred pounds in the bed keeps the rear in place going around corners. Pickups aren't terribly well balanced front to back. Especially if you've got wide tires.

No. I put on my snow tires and in the rare occasion the roads are slippery, I flick on 4WD.

No, I have been through 3 NH winters in mine with OEM's and now my KO-Bro tires. Truck does very well in the snow.

nope, last few winters in Va with the snow I've done fine, with the KO2's and
4 wheel drive if it's real bad.

Just snow is no big deal, but its ice and frost on those shady corners, bridge decks that you need to watch for.
If you have months of winter real winter tires make a difference. I have a canopy on so that adds a couple hundred pounds.
My buddy had Duratracs on his truck working at the ski hill and took them off. They kept breaking loose on the sharp corners with hardback ice/snow.

4x4, so no need. If it's slippery, just kick it into 4. If 2wd, then it could help.
