    LOL... you guys are funny!

I have had 3 Tacomas... all 3 had the rear locker. The 3rd also has A-TRAC.

I could get my first two Tacomas everywhere I wanted to go with the rear locker... it took some effort sometimes as I go into really rough sh*t in Baja and the desert with a stock truck.

The A-TRAC has taken me to all the same places and even tougher ones as my rear locker before had... only smoother, easier and with more confidence that I wouldn't get stuck... as I often travel alone (no other vehicles).

The A-TRAC makes my 3rd Tacoma seem like a tank or a tractor off road... I cannot find a place it doesn't get me through... including 2-3 ft. deep water crossings or with both back tires off the ground while high centered, pointing uphill.

It indeed is like front and rear lockers (compared to no lockers or just the rear locker)... It also doesn't cost a dime over the price of the 4WD with a rear locker. You get both with the Off Road 4WD Tacoma!

In all of seriousness, I like A-TRAC too.

Ok. Heres one with my Buddy who had ATRAC on. This is Odessa Canyon at Calico. The video didnt show the first part, but he sat there for a long time with one wheel spinning. If he had a front locker, just engage it, and would have climbed up it no problem with one wheel off the ground. ATrac is cool, but it has weaknesses. I know because I have driven both. Like I said before, its all about what you want to do with your rig (off-road wise). Nothing wrong with any setup

Sorry, but his A-TRAC was either OFF or NOT WORKING.

In the video, the front passenger tire is spinning while he is stopped by a rock blocking his driver side tire.

A-TRAC stops the spinning and matches the rotation to the traction tire. If the traction tire doesn't rotate, then neither does the other tire in the air.

This. Nice system to have, but has weaknesses like all others.

    meh..

ATRAC is good, and works well over moderate conditions. a fully locked front/rear vehicle well get you over severe conditions a lot easier then say...someones ATRAC equipped vehicle

    how's that for trolling!?

    completely stock
fwiw a stock tacoma, without sliders, without a lift, without clearanced bumpers will never fully test the capability of a locker or atrac
