So what maintenance or common issues come with a 2.5 lift. I thought under 3 was all good territory ?

Small potential for driveline vibes. Other than that, prob just a few extra zerks to grease if you swapped UCAs.

Zerks? I do have a lot of parts sitting in the garage and will have to do UCA in the end. Thank you for the info as well

Zerks are little fittings that are usually found on rotating parts. They are what you attach your grease gun to. Most aftermarket UCAs come with them where they rotate around the UCA bolt holing it to the frame.

I bought my truck, its a 2WD & I never offroad (or I would have got a 4x4), & only 500 miles later, I put on a 3" lift from Rough Country. It's 3" strut spacers for the front & 2" blocks for the rear (I know, a $300 poor man's lift lol). I also upgraded the rear shocks to their lifted shocks for a better ride. My lift was SOLELY for looks lol! None the less, it rides like stock & I LOVE the way it looks, I get so many compliments daily, even though its a faux 4x4 lol! I DONT REGRET IT AT ALL!!! I am just looking to upgrade my tires from 31" to 33" now & that's it for my lift. ENJOY!!!image23.jpg image24.jpg

I regret the cheap lift I put on my truck, but my king 2.5's will be here Friday and I know I won't regret them.

6” rough country with bilstein 5100’s up front and pro comp in the rear. Same setup as my 2011 f150. Love it and no problems. I did to the ecgs bushing in the front diff for preventative reasons. I would not be happy with less. 3” lift with big tires does not look done to me. Offroads great. Comfortable for daily driving also

Couldn't be happier with the lift. After 70,000 miles on the lift it still drives like a dream. I will need to replace the tires in a few months as they will have about 80000 miles on them by then. Going back with the same meats.

That's a beautiful truck, what kind of lift did you install? I'm worried about lifting mine cause I hear all the horror stories haha.

Thanks man! We did quite a bit of research before the decision was made. I started with a budget I thought was reasonable then...I threw that out the window. What I went with since I have a prerunner which is the best for lifting:

    1. Maxtrac Spindle lift in front 4" lift. Going with a spindle lift is great since you maintain stock suspension geometry.
    2. Fox coilovers in front 2.0.
    3. Fox shocks in rear 2.5 with reservoir.
    4. OEM Dakar Leaf pack in the rear which gives 2.5 inches of lift.
    5. Spidertrax 1.25 wheel spacer at rear wheel to adjust for the bump out or .75 inches in front with the Maxtrac Spindle.
    6. Fuel Hostage 18x8 wheels.
    7. Nitto Trail Grappler MT 285/65/18. (33x12x18).

We thought about doing the upper control arm, but, it wasn't necessary since the angles are the same as the stock suspension due to the 4" spindles. The alignment is no problem. The down side is this will cost a little more than $5000 installing it yourself. It took me and the wife two days for the installation. I take my time whenever I do these things so I can clean everything while I am there. Good ole Lanolin (Fluid Film).

The horror stories you hear are more or less from individuals with poor planning and acting in haste. Patience and realistic budget does away with that nonsense, generally. If I got a new truck tomorrow I would do the exact same thing.
