I've got a new (Feb) '23 DCSH OR and so far I've been washing at home but have been tempted to take through the drive-thru car wash. The kind with the crazy spinning slapper flappers ?

Anybody had any damage? I'm reluctant because of single-stage (White) and the side-mirrors, even if I fold them in.

    Cheers.

Don’t do it. Those flappers are hell on a clear coat.

I stick to the touchless. Doesn’t do a great job but it rinses off the top layers of gunk.

I've never taken any of my current trucks through a (flapper) car wash. A few times with just the DYI hose off ones to get some sand off

    I did for years...

Was selling my canopy, so thought I'd drive through one to clean it off before delivery...

Guy at carwash asked if i wanted to remove antenna, told him no, i had been through this car wash countless times. First time they ever asked...

Soon as I drove in, it ripped my antenna off and i could hear it as it beat the entire length of my truck.

    Haven't been in one since.

Lift, wheels, tires, sliders, and skidplates...so far.
I drive those on a very regular basis. Compared to the brush, cactus, trees, and rocks that I drive through (literally THROUGH), it doesn't do ANY damage to the truck. My truck has "arizona pin striping" all over but none of it is from the car wash.

Agree with the above. Do NOT take a car/truck though those car scratchers. Foam wash then hand wash. Use the two bucket method with soil guards.

Never. Not even once. I don't even let the dealership do it.

    Hand wash only.

All the fucking time! I got better things to do with my time than baby a mass produced run of the mill paint job. This truck ain't my baby, it's just a tool to me.

I've worked on electrical at several chains of car washes; matter of fact, I'm currently building one from ground up...

It's not just the possible physical damage, but the chemical damage, all car washes can cause. The soaps they use are so acidic or alkali they have to be rinsed with a deactivator.

I don’t use any car wash place that is connected to gas station. I prefer car wash only. That has touchless or microfiber. No plm.

There is a car wash place down the road from here that allows me to park truck in the bay so I can spray foam on it then raise it off.
