The good news is, that's OK.

It doesn't matter who is 'right'. What matters is that we can disagree without being disagreeable!

That said: Please look into this a bit. Hell, look over the MythBusters episode I'm referring. There have been many studies that went through peer review and stood the test easily.

    *salute

EDITED to add, here's a synopsis to that very Mythbusters show.

As a driver, I don't trust my life to drivers on a highway that are mentally and physically incapable of driving their cars.

I personally believe mental and physical impairment poses as much or greater of a danger to the motoring public then someone texting.

But both are equally stupid and equally illegal.

According to the NHTSA, 9878 people died as a result of DUI crashes in 2011, but texting and driving causes about 3000 deaths.

Texting and driving is the leading cause of accidents in teenagers...why? It could be because they aren't legal age to drink. What would you think would be the leading cause of accidents and deaths in teenage drivers if they could legally drink at 16? Add booze to the texting...

Please understand that I am merely making conversation and I agree with the statements that distracted driving is very dangerous...but so is impaired driving!

If I was to get in a car with a person, I would rather get in a car with someone who occasionally texts then someone who is impaired....because the texting can be corrected on the spot, that's why god invented the backhand.

    Uhm how is illegality different?

The penalties are different but illegality is illegality regardless of its texting or murder.

If I'm at a traffic light occasionally, otherwise no. Then again, I don't text nearly as much as I used to in general. It's always comforting getting passed by people doing 85 holding their phone up texting.

    Fantastic!

Drinking and driving is bad, and you should not do it.

Using a cell phone is also bad, and you should not do it.

If you are driving, do not be drinking or using a cell/other electronic device.

If you are driving, and have to use a device, then pull the hell over and stop to do so.
