98 4x4 farm truck barn find-kid tested-thou shall not text and drive

I was going to put a new front clip on it but noticed a slight bend in the frame behind the drivers front wheel.Wierd that it didn't blow the airbags, said he was going about 35mph. Shame too as it's a pretty solid frame. Truck has 170k miles but the engine only has 35k miles as the same kid tried to drive it 20 miles home with a hole in the radiator 3 years ago ,warped the heads/block so they replaced it with a rebuilt long block.

Took it for a ride around the block and runs strong and the 4x4 works as it should. Still I decided I'm going to dismantle it for spare parts(mainly the engine, interior parts) and sell some of them. It has a custom steel flatbed they used to haul hay.

    OME and worth every penny.
frames are not really that expensive to fix considering what people are willing to pay for a 1st gen.

It's a little long at 7ft. I was thinking of chopping it and making it shorter by about a foot and a half and put it on my truck But I already have a Besttop soft topper that I love and put on in the summer so prolly just sell it. Guy said he had $700 worth of steel in it alone.

If it drives straight I would not worry about a little bending of the frame.

Then it is your truck strip away !!

That truck is cool. I tend to be an optimist about reparing damage like this since my truck was saved with a new cab. That damage don't look too bad to me. If it still goes down the road straight I'd fix it . If you can plan out the parts and time ......... and money.......

You should try to save it for preservation of the species. 1st gens won't be around forever.

I cant see the pics but depending on the damage there are places that have frame pullers and can straighten a bent frame if it really bugs you...
