PLANO has a new grey rifle case with red accents. I think it will look sharp mounted on the roof rack of my cement Tacoma. Do you think the red will fade being in the sun? or should it hold its color?

    this and that...
i think it will fade. red is the most lustful, but also one of the quickest colors to wash out. just look at toyotas own radiant red that used to be on the xrunner; nice, deep, vibrant, red tone. after a few it took on the moniker radiant pink because its quick fading properties. ultimately, the colorway ended up getting retired for barcelona red.

Any colored plastic will fade with sun exposure. Even the plastic already on the truck.

That will look great on your truck, look into the ceramic waxes for the truck. Most of these can be applied to plastics and vinyl, I am using “The Last Coat” contact them to see if it would protect against fading

I'll go a step further: Everything under the sun - period - fades.
The UV protection is getting better all the time, but it's not (& probly never will be) perfect. I agree that you'd be fine if you just leave it on when using it...if it's on the truck 24/7, then it won't take long for the red to wash out.

I try to get items that if they fade will just turn gray. As long as your cool with pink handles a year from now, it’s all good.

or don’t mount it 24/7 or hit it with some 303 or a wax coat every so often

    All the things!
This is because "red" absorbs more damaging wavelengths of UV light than any other colors. This can commonly be observed on the "fire diamonds" found on a lot of propane tanks.

OP... I hope you like the gray and pink combo.
