That the next gen Tacoma will have independent rear suspension? Will Toyota move in the direction of Honda?

I get the feeling that Toyota trucks will continue to be less and less truck-like...the hilux trucks were the best, and so far 1st gen seems to be more reliable than 2nd gens...seems like a downhill slide to me

Lol...do the new ram trucks really come with coils in the back? As much of an auto enthusiast I think I am...that's news to me

To each his own I suppose...but I'd rather have old school...solid in the back with leaves, indy in the front with torsion bars would be my dream

The pickup industry has digressed the truck to an onroad showpiece imo. A lot of this is due to ignorant drivers wanting a pickup then whining it doesnt feel like their pinto/supra/corolla ,etc. I dont know if coils limit articulation in the rear axle, my guess is they do,but i dont really know.
As far as IFS rear on , dont judge it good /bad, judge it by the maker's intent. Honda doesnt sell it as an offroad pickup as far as I know, being IFS rear/awd. I consider it a good option if you just go skiing, hauling some hardware store stuff , hiking camping, as far as a gravel road takes you. A pickup isnt an offroad vehicle from the starting point , its a cargo hauler. The offroad is added along the way up the model line.

I DONT want IFS rear on a 4x4,let alone the front (its what it is), I seriously doubt they will. But what could be interesting is IFS on the 2wd only, see how it goes.
