I've looked at every 3rd gen taco out in my area to see if I get a look also, nothing. Of course mine looks pretty stock still but I look at all of them. Still waiting for someone to look back to wave lol

Here in Hawaii, I travel for work to all the outer islands, its funny how people on every island react differently to other drivers, on Lanai, everyone waves at you, regardless of what you are driving. On Molokai, you get waved at 80% of the time if driving a car that doesn’t look like a rental, maybe 10% if driving a rental. Kauai and Hilo, drivers tend to be courteous and always wave thank you to fellow drivers, if they are locals. Kona and Maui, just a little less then Hilo and Kauai, on Oahu, you lucky you even get a wave when you let someone cut in. It used to be different, but it’s getting like driving on the mainland and everyone just seems to be in a rush and/or grouchy driving in traffic. But as fellow Hawaii guys have said, there are just too many Tacos in Hawaii and if I waved at every Taco on the road, my arm would fall off.

I'll wave if I can tell they put some work into their truck. Stock trucks are everywhere and owned by people who won't even notice my Tacoma or wave.

No, not around here. I didn't even know it was a "thing"
I have ridden motorcycles since i was little and that is definitely a "thing" around here. I always wave to motorcycles when im riding, kinda of a kindred spirit kinda thing.
Disclaimer:...i quit waving to Harley riders in 98 or 99...
I dont know if they are to cool or, afraid to take a hand off the bar, or just Dicks,......but they dont wave back so i gave up.

The one-finger wave, while still gripping the wheel, is acceptable. I call it the trucker wave.

I let another taco owner turn into my lane and silmutoneously waved hi from one taco owner to another while I was in Jacksonville. Ironically she flipped me off and honked the horn, which is also the first time I’ve been at the other end of a tacoma horn. Two things: I wonder if there are any horn mods to beef up the sound on third gens? And I’m probably not going to wave hi to other taco owners anymore.

Yeah waving is almost as common as people that get upset when people make a thread without searching to see if someone has thought of it before .

TBH when I see someone smile and wave at me I get extremely upset. If it’s an attractive female I often times just start crying.

Also owning a JK which I'm always waving and usually getting responses, I still keep that habit while driving my Taco. Only thing is, 9 times outta 10 I do not get the wave back in the Taco. Oh well. I am going to keep trying.

On another note though. When I hike or bike I also wave at everyone. Hiking, most people greet back. Cycling it's about 50:50 from people on bikes and 9/10 no response from pedestrians. Maybe most cyclists and people that see me cycling and waving are like taco owners. Again, I am just gonna keep saying hi though. Makes me feel good to acknowledge others.
