I only insist that my (adult) passengers buckle in because it's my ticket if we get pulled over, and seatbelts are now a primary (stoppable) offense.

Usually always. The last time I didn't I got a ticket. $165.00 mistake. Sucks, but that ticket helps remind me every time the key goes in the ignition.

I am one of the few that would have died if I was wearing my seat belt (i was a passenger in a friend's car and it was broken). The support for the shoulder belt wound up on the driver's side after we broadsided a tree.

Dispite that I always wear my seatbelt and make sure any passengers do also.

Well, if you're in the Coast Guard it's a general order. I always wear mine and won't put the vehicle into drive until everyone in the vehicle is buckled up.

Thats a child resistant thingy if they try to turn the knob it just spins, you have to press kinda hard on both sides and turn then it will work

I'm a career firefighter. Wear the belt. The "this is why I don't" stories are rare and life's not a gamble.

Why is this even a question? Seat belts have saved me serious harm once, and once is enough to convince anyone who thinks they are stronger than a brick wall...

Flesh and blood is no match for twisted steel and violent collisions, jeesh..

I believe you'd have to be insane not to wear a seat belt while driving. However, the libertarian side of me disagrees with it being law.

In Florida, wearing a seatbelt while driving a car/truck is the law...however, it's legal to ride a motorcycle w/o a helmet :notsure:

Up until I got pulled over for window tint I know have to wear my seat belt.. Now you can see through my windows lol I had one of those eBay insertions forever. Who knows it just may save my butt one of these day. I just never wore one because of shoulder and back issues. I didnt like the way seat belts pulled on me when I needed to move. Now its becoming a habit after not wearing one for years

Touchy subject and I agree with you that it should be your choice, but the attached insurance premiums that go towards paying for the ones that choose to ride or drive without safety precautions and get hurt/ killed just plain suck.

I voted yes though I disagree with the reason stated.

Additionally, I would challenge anyone to prove that they "would be dead" if they did or did not wear a seatbelt.

I wear mine because statistics proverthe overall risk of injury or death is lower not because I made some assumption.
