working a certain law enforcement agency has got me out of the habit of wearing my seat belt. If other people are are in the car it always goes on.

But what do people do when they are wheeling? Mine is never on

Always, and always insist the passenger also straps in.

Sure the truck's a tank, but the safety systems only work if your positioned in the vehicle.

Have a soon to be "ex" Brother-In-Law, never straps in, oh well,,,

I met a girl that had gone through the windshield. It really did a number on her face. I've been wearing my seat belt ever since.

I chose neutral, because if I'm just putting around my family's property or just moving my truck, my seatbelt usually stays off. However, the second I leave my driveway, seatbelt goes on and stays on.

I respect the choices of others if they don't want to wear their seatbelt, but I have too much in life to live for :)

I wear my seat belt if I'm on a paved road. If I am on a dirt or gravel road and driving less than 30 mph, I won't wear it.

I caged my truck for a reason, I wear my belts at all times. People that try to give an excuse for not wearing it just sound ignorant or lazy

I wear mine at all times, except when driving short distance (ie, down the block or moving my truck around the yard.) The only other time I do not wear it is when I'm on the paper route, because I am having to get out of the vehicle every thirty seconds to go porch a paper. But when we hit the main road between the sections of our route, I put it on.

Ugh, what a dumbass! That's just plain ol stupid.

Got me thinking about what happened to my uncle. He did not have his seat belt on and my aunt told him to put on.
He did not so she brake checked him messing with him. He ended up hitting the windshield and cracked it. They were doing 10 to 20 max. Barely rolling.
    He now puts it on...

I don't necessarily fear for my safety and use my seatbelt as the choice of the poll indicated.

In 1985 I witnessed a driver cross center lane into oncoming traffic and collide with a large steel utility pole. He was DUI, 17 years old and had a 15 year old female passenger riding with him. I stopped to render aid until paramedics arrived. I am not a first responder, but saw someone was in trouble and tried to assist. The young girl was curled under the dash after hitting it full force with her chest upon impact. When the paramedics arrived I helped move her from the vehicle and into the ambulance. She did not make it to the hospital alive from the crushed aorta she received hitting the dashboard.

I had worn seatbelts previous to witnessing the accident, but even more so after witnessing the senseless loss of a young life that was certainly preventable. Law or no law it does not make sense to me to not wear a seatbelt. Neither is there fear involved. In my vehicle everyone wears seatbelts or they will not ride in my vehicle.

    Well put.

I guess it's a reasonable question. My friend when we were younger would NEVER wear one, even after several seat belt tickets. When he was in his step-dad's truck he would rather tell the beeping to shut up than buckle up.

I wear mine pretty much every time. The only time I don't is if I am making a one minute drive around town say to my parent's house (less than 50km/h) even then I know I should.
