I agree. Are coil overs the best way to go upfront? Any recomendations on a good setup that wont break the bank for front and rear shocks? My 2006 reg cab Tacoma that my wife is now driving untill the fall needs to new shocks and is having the factory springs recalled next month. I can use the stock shocks from this truck on there i resume so that should work well. I will post measurements soon.

    Thanks guys!

The 111R springs will lift 2" at least over stock height with the bed weight you have (~24" hub to fender minimum), and then I can't say how the towing weight will affect how much the rear will drop. Yours is a long bed, right?

And up front, you can replace just the springs to add a little to compensate for how you'll lift the rear. I'd need some hub to fender measurements from you to get an idea of where you're currently at though.

I know this sounds crazy, but you might want to provide the measurements at each tire, instead of the general 21" hub to fender. You are correct at measuring the 21" from center of hub up to fender though....

    For example:

    LF left front
    RF right front
    LR left rear
    RR right rear

    Too much.
Finally installed the MLO/Dobinsons suspension, and got exactly 24" from hub to wheel well (this includes a 1-1/2" add-a-leaf in the rear) on all 4 corners

I checked at every tire and they where all within 1/4" if that's close enough?

    Yeah.

21" is stock front on an access cab long bed (1" taller than a dual cab), and with the rear weight you have on there, it's possibly keeping that up too. 22" is stock in the rear, so you've squatted about 1" back there.

If you were to use the C59-314's up front, you'd get to 22" hub to fender, and 111R's in the back about 24-24.5" in the rear. If you want more lift than that up front, you'll need to change the struts, C59-314's with GS59-220 will be 23" hub to fender (what is considered a 3" lift on a dual cab)

Nice, ya, what Mike said above!

Your stock shocks and struts will add a great improvement t your wife's setup. The full kit from exit offroad is on backorder, and about $1560 + tax for a 2" lift over stock with your weight. See attached. These are the airbags I have. So, you're looking at about 2k for your setup in parts. :notsure: Obviously, work out all the details with Mike before ordering.

    So. Many. Stickers.
OME, Eibach, and of course, Dobinsons all offer not terribly expensive yet full comprehensive suspension kit options.

Well, i think you guys have talked me into it. Thinking of going with the new coils and struts up front and the 111r and new struts in the back. How far are things back ordered? Ill take a look at your site and see whats going on. Thanks! Also, I am thinking of doing this all myself at my house, I have never worked on the suspension before but i think I can figure it out. Any special tools or particularly tricky things to look out for? Spring Compressor?

Mike will get you all set up, just make sure you add the strut top plates, and assemble, and they will get them put together for you. Then just drop them in when they show up. I do know the leafs are a little backordered.

Yep, best to get the fronts preassembled prior to shipping so you can bolt them in at home.

Leaf springs are currently due early May, but with the worldwide shipping issues, that can easily be pushed.

Perhaps. There are still less than 50% of the ships that used to sail from Australia currently in use, and routes to get stuff to the US are very unusual

Not yet, but planning on it. Just waiting on parts to show up. Then it will all be installed in one go.

I've been piecing together stuff and I'm about to purchase shocks, leafs, springs. My hammer hangers get here Saturday, I've got ecgs bushing laying around, and I'm going to the local 4wd store this weekend to pick up a hilift in case I get a flat post lift. Still undecided between kings, foxes or the mra.

Make sure you watch some good videos on how to use a high lift if you're not familiar with. And I would practice using it before you end up needing it somewhere.
