Thanks for the reply. I also see on your website. The dobinson tubular uca is not coming with the 555 bj currently.
How would I go about getting your sale price. But waiting until the 555 is back in stock.?

That's fine, just throw a note in there to wait for the 555's and we'll do that.

What would be the best coil for 1.8-2in of lift. Front end will have around 155lbs of extra weight.

C59-352 most likely since you're beyond the weight of the 314s. But if you have an adjustable height strut like IMS or MRA you could run the softer rate 314s with some preload to get 2"

Thank you, yes I would most likely be going with the IMS and 1.25in quick rider on the rear.

Anyone have thoughts or experience wheeling with the GS59-220 (extended travel, +1" lift) front shock, specifically at full droop?

Looks like the GS59-220 is 18mm longer than the GS59-221 (stock length) when both are fully extended. Interesting video that I will link if possible (new user here). Kai from Tinkerer's Adventure has a YouTube video called "Everything about Toyota IFS... Part 1" that seems to demonstrate this 18mm longer shock might really be pushing the limit of full droop without banging or binding CV's, banging the UCA into fatter aftermarket coils, etc. it's in the section beginning at 6:08. 14mm longer length, as in Bilsteins, might have more margin to protect from this.

Anyone with this shock notice knocks, bangs, scuff marks on coils, etc. that would make you think full droop on this shock is a little too much travel?

How would the C59-350 compare to 352s or even the 314s. Would they be a good balance between the 314 and the 352? Front end won’t have bumper and lift for awhile and I’m looking for 2in of lift without any weight.

    • C59-314 – 2″ lift stock front end, 1.75″ with 100LBS
    • C59-350 – 1.5″ to 1.75″ with 200-240LBS, 2″ with stock weight (heavy rate)
    • C59-352 – 2″ lift with 180-220 lbs, or 2.4″ with stock weight (heavy rate)

You wouldn't run heavy rate coils unless you know you're going to put a heavy amount of weight on it, or it won't ride so well.

Thank you. Are the UCAs recommended for the 2in lift? UCAs would be the Dobinson tubular ones.

They're not required at 2", although they would help you get more articulation and a better wheel alignment. At 2.5" or more they should be run.

Ok, any downsides at running them at 2in of lift? I’m on 265/75/16s and do a lot of highway driving. The reason for installing the UCAs would be for improved handling on long drives not for tire clearance or additional flexing.

Long time reader, first time poster. I have a '23 OR DCSB. Daily driver, no significant weight added other than Diamondback HD (~90lbs), but I will be adding a RTT + camping gear for weekend trips. Looking to do a 2 to 2.5" lift, and would like to improve ride quality (I drive a lot), and do some minor offroading, so I'm strongly considering the full IMS kit . I know they're on backorder, but based on what I've read it seems like it's worth the wait (@Crikeymike any idea on ETA?). I would also greatly appreciate any guidance with choosing the correct options. I'll be installing it with an auto tech buddy and doing the ECGS clamshell bushing as well. I've never installed a suspension kit before, so I'm unsure what options I should have/should forgo, and just looking for some confirmation that I'm not doing anything too dumb... thank you in advance!

    Front:
    C59-314, IMS59-50220
    Pre-assembled; Preloaded 220mm (.5" lift)

    Rear:
    IMS59-50940
    L59-110-R
Rear poly leaf spring bush kit
    Dobinsons UB59-453-2K rear U-Bolts
    Greasable bolt pair (1)

    Do I need/should I consider:
1/2" strut top mount spacer for lean?
    U-bolt flip kit?
Another pair of greasable bolts for shackle end of leaf?
UCA's I would consider more if the install wasn't such a PITA, but will add if need be.

Hey bud, welcome to the forum.

ETA on the IMS struts and shocks is March/April. Still waiting on production to go through then shipping to the USA. Leaf springs are due in mid/late February.

You've got all the parts pretty much right.

You have a new Tacoma probably with no lean so you shouldn't need the lean spacer.
Flip kit is an option to gain more rear axle clearance. Good for heavy offroaders, not noticeable for people that don't go offroad too much
Greasable bolts on both ends are a good idea to keep the bushings moving freely
UCA's aren't required a 2-2.5" lift, but they do provide a better alignment and better articulation when adding them, so the front end moves more freely too with the corrected ball joint angle.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I'll add another greasable bolt pair to the order. I think I'll be okay w/o U-bolt flip and UCAs for now - will be adding more in the future. Can/should I put the order for the kit in now? Or should I wait they're in stock? Thanks again!

    Sounds good.

I'd suggest now, as it's about to hit busy season when people start getting their tax returns and the backorder line could get super long.
