No offense taken lol. I said the safari fits better because the safari is much more tucked in on the A pillar. It doesn't stick out so far. I think it just follows the body lines with no gaps better. Granted, yes, I haven't tried fixing mine yet, but based off my buddies Safari, his follows the body lines nicer. I do plan on trying to fix and adjust mine, but I don't have the time to do so right now.

I hear that time issue as of late!

I know Dobinsons took time to make the snorkel for us 2nd gen owners and put genuine effort into making it work well for a very fair price point, which I know you mentioned.

As a gear head, I always appreciate companies that take the chance to make a fair product for a [insert the vehicle I own at any given time] and didn’t think claiming it didn’t fit quite as well, when there was discussion of room for installation tweaks, as per the original instructions, was a fair review.

Not sure why I came here to defend that, I’ve got no beef in the game here, except potentially buying one down the road if I hold onto the Taco for a few more years.

Just bored and playing internet troll I guess.

    Cheers brother

    Update:

pulled the snorkel off today. Had to widen the holes a good bit but now the snorkel fits much better than before. Still have a slight gap in the back, but not like it used to be. The A pillar bracket sits flush on the A pillar. Holes are close to 1”, so I had to use bigger washers but overall im much happier now.

Do NOT take it through an automatic car wash. It’ll rip the snorkel right off. Get used to washing by hand

Yes, there's a guy in this thread that confirmed the fitment to a 4cyl.

Does this snorkel have any drainage (like the 2020 snorkel) to prevent water from reaching the intake?

The airbox has the drains in it already.

Edit: and the snorkel air ram (intake) separates water as well.

Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between the stock intake set up and the TRD intake that prevents this snorkel from being compatible?

I thought it bolted right up. Maybe you have to shave the tabs off the trd intake where the rubber tube connects between the snorkel and air box. Not certain though!

the air inlet between the TRD and the stock box are not the same. I think you need to do some kind of reducer to make it work, but others have gone before you and done the testing. Read through all the pages of this thread. If it isn't in here, check the same thread in the 3rd gen section.

Has anyone installed this with a 1" body lift? Any problems or further mods needed?
