I know I'm a bit late to the party on this, I agree with @JoeCOVA approach. I would recommend getting some cone point set screws and putting them backwards into the stud holes. Then dry fit the snorkel and press them into the masking tape or template. That should be more accurate than using the studs because it will be closer to the body and the finished placement.

Any of you guys have any good photos of the trucks in the snow? I've had a few guys ask about what to do with the air ram during heavy snow, and I suggest to face it backwards in case it's the kind of snow that builds up easily. Meanwhile, the 79 degree days we're having here in Miami right now makes me completely unqualified to be talking about snow!!

I know some of you Canadians have bought them! How's the winter going?

I know it's a 3rd Gen thread, but if your snorkel head is the same as the 2nd gen, has anyone swapped to a dome shaped snorkel head?

I'm pissed my snorkel didn't line up properly. The snorkel sits half inch high. The curve on the fender does not match the snorkel. Theres a half inch gap between the snorkel and fender and because of that, the boot wont go on. I have to seal the boot to the snorkel with duct tape and flex tape. I had 2 guys hold the template to make sure it didn't shift while i was drilling. Fuck me

Honestly idk why it didn't line up properly. I double checked before cutting. Unfortunately i ended up using black silicone to fill the gap so u cant see it anymore. I knew I should of just paid the extra and got ARB, i never had any issue with their snorkel

Installed mine over the weekend, no dramas. Did pay extra attention to step 6, the bolt holes were off on the template a bit. Used 3m body molding tape to attach the bracket to the a-pillar.

Could I just 3M it to the side of the truck and not drill in? Mall crawl status. I currently have a k&n CAI and this would be for looks....

You could but you would have to cut and modify the snorkel itself. The part that carries the air inside the fender sticks out like a tube, so you can't hold the snorkel against the body without cutting that part off.

That makes sense. I’ll just sell my CAI and pick one of these up. Do these snorkels generate any engine noise like how a CAI growls at higher rpm?

No, not really. With a window down on that side you might hear some noise but not with the windows up

My head hurts just reading that.

Others have picked up an adapter of sorts so that the snorkel can match up to the CAI. You already found the right thread...just read from the beginning.

Yup, my Dobinsons connected up to my TRD CAI.
