At a loss for the moment and hoping someone can help me out. Here's the scenario. Will be having Dobinsons MRR installed front and back this week using the lightest springs up front and 110 leaf packs.

The retailer told me the shocks don't come from the factory at any initial settings - I'll have to play around with them especially as each shock could have different settings.

Truck will be mostly in daily-driver mode for now as we don't have any trips planned in next 2 months where the wife, kids and their nearly infinite accoutrements are loaded up.

I'm looking for "initial" settings for the front and rear shocks to get a sense for how they work, and make adjustments from there depending on the driving expected.

Can anyone set out a good starting point for both high and low speed compression and rebound settings I should start with?

I've emailed Dobinsons in Australia over 2 weeks ago and am still awaiting a response.

    Thanks in advance!

From soft I ended up with 15 clicks low speed, 8 clicks high speed, 6 clicks rebound. I'm by no means an expert and it's obviously truck weight dependent as well. Basically I'd just set everything to half between soft and hard and just go from there.

The range of adjustment is so small with the mrr that it really doesn't make much difference at all. I've ran them fully open and fully closed in testing, as well as with them at their "recommended spec" and it wasn't great either way.

Geez, hopefully I made the right choice with MRR. Paid less than a number of other set-ups on offer in Canada, but still feels like a commitment.

As for the range of adjustments - compression and rebound steps are defined by "clicks." How do I know I've reached the end of the range of adjustment? Does the dial simply not turn further?

I have a phone clamp for my dirt bike from Hondo that has a very clear definitive end to its adjustment range. Once you've reached the end of either extreme, it won't click no further. And Hondo doesn't caution about adjustments at either end...it's a clear stop.

I ask because it seems when reaching the maximum clicks for High Speed Compression it's advisable to more carefully "click" upwards to avoid damage. Does this mean at least with High Speed Compression, the top end isn't a defined "final click"?

My strategy is to adjust every setting to its lowest and then go up from there - and find the middle of each range and fo from there.

Biggest concern is not buggering a thread or otherwise damaging one of these suckers. My budget for upgrades has been maxed out for at least the next few years with the MRR purchase...

Im sure you’ll be able to find some adjustment that will work for you.

After re-reading your initial post I’d suggest having them installed and then seeing how they ride and adjust from there. Anything is an improvement over stock.

@Crikeymike might be able to offer some advice too. He’s active here, knows a lot and sells a lot of those kits.
