Yes indeed, I have been following their journey and reading the thread since the beginning.
Stressing the mounts is certainly something I will keep an eye on.
I think they are probably driving their truck a lot harder then I ever will though

Deavers should be very similar in price (if not cheaper) compared to the Dobinson leaf pack + Daystar cradles + air bags. You'd probably be fine without upgrading your front suspension to heavier springs. I'm running 650lb springs with a winch and ARB bumper, way more weight than you (assuming your truck is stock).

I am still waffling over the Dobinsons 111R (constant 600 pounds) or the Dobinsons 112R (constant 800 pounds)
Worried the 111R might be a little too soft even with the airbags doing their thing
Worried the 112R might be a little too stiff when the camper is off and the truck unladen
Leaning towards the 112R though since the Kimbo will probably be loaded a lot more then unloaded

The first section of bed was full of wood. I also had a 3500W generator, 2 5 gal water jugs, and a bunch of other crap. The CRF is 339lbs stock....so it had quite a bit of weight

Buy the 112R's, if it's too much, take out a leaf and make it a 111R. I have 112's on my truck and had 111's on my trailer.
My truck now has an empty bed. The ride isn't too bad IMHO. Granted, I DD'd a TJ for 9yrs.....so comfort has never really been a top priority

Yes, that very well might be true.
I thought long and hard over heavy duty leafs vs airbags/cradles vs Timbren SES.
I also had a long discussion with the owner of Kimbo about this.
In the end I think the Dobinsons with bags & cradles might be a good route for me since even though I plan to have the camper on the truck most of the time, if things change, I like the versatility that the bags & cradles offer.

Thanks for the confirmation, I really appreciate it.
The outfitter has always said the 112R will be best for my intended use.
They said unladen it will be a little stiff, but not too bad.
After driving the stock TRD Sport Bilstein setup for 12 years I am used to the truck being a bit stiff anyways

    Hi all,

After doing a bit more research I am thinking of going with the Dobinsons IMS monotube shocks and struts instead of the Dobinsons twin tube shocks and struts.

Still planning to pair these with the L59-112R leaf springs and C59-314 coils.

Think it's a worthy upgrade going with the IMS monotube shocks and struts instead of the twin tube??

Sounds like I wouldn't need different upper control arms with either the monotube or twin tube as I am running LT265/70/R17 tires. Does that sound right too??

    Thanks so much!!
