Do you have the 4/6/8 engine? I loved that part the best! Running on 4cyls until you tow or step on the gas hard saved me a lot of money. I got really high gas mileage with it! Love your truck, it's beautiful. You are very lucky!

Here's a pic of my mpg display after driving 45 mins on 4 cyls. You can even see me saying HOLY SHEET! in the mirror below while trying to hurry and take the pic while driving! :D

My next door neighbor has an '02-03 Ram 1500 and his wife has an '07 Caravan. He swears how much he loves Chryslers and how great of a vehicle and reliable they've been yet, He's had the transmission replaced in both of them, the steering racks replaced in both of them, Brake problems galore, The AC has gone out in both of them. The heater core in the Ram melted and almost caught on fire last year toasted the firewall behind the dash...

My girlfriend has an '07 Jeep Compass with 50k miles and its already starting to give her problems. That thing will be replaced with a Japanese vehicle ASAP.

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, I have the motor that can switch to 4 cyl mode. I'm shocked at the gas mileage on the highway! It's way better than I expected lol

110k on my '07 and the only thing I've had to replace so far is the OE Battery at ~50k miles and the brake pads.

The only other "annoyances" it has given me are a squeaky throwout bearing (been squeaky since the day I bought it) and the blower motor was acting funny a couple months ago (working fine now...)

TRD Supercharger, Toytec 3" Ultimate Lift w/ 285/75/16s and planning on OBA for sometime in the future. Also thinking about the HWMS and a Warn 8000 for it.
I sat in a Dodge Ram worktruck at the car show about 3-4 years ago and it was the most miserable interior I've had the misfortune of ever being in. The buttons felt horrible, the seat back levers were so jankety that I couldn't tell if the seat was about to release or if the lever was about to break. The whole interior was made of the most brittle feeling plastic I've ever seen in a vehicle. My dad had a v6 4wd Dakota from 99 or 00, and he hated it. It was slower than shit, but still got abysmal mileage, and he had mechanical problem after problem with it (most notable being the brakes stopped working). It probably only had 75k miles on it when he got rid of it less than a year ago, and it was worth less than what it would have cost to get it in safe operating condition.
That being said, all of the car and truck magazines are going on and on for the last couple of years about how Dodge went (quality wise) from worst to first.
I sat in a full size Dodge truck at the car show in November of '11, and it had a very plush interior. It felt like a Louie Vuitton handbag, but for men. The seatback pouches had these leather flaps that had all sorts of embroidery on them and there was even a fake buckle worked into the leather (which is why I make the handbag comparison).
I'm still ruined for life on Dodges, but I can see how someone would want one now, especially with the insane power (350hp or better) and decent gas mileage that goes with the crazy power.

Cause the have the best diesel engine out of the 3 hands down. Anyone who says otherwise is a tool and has no idea what they're talking about. Only thing that comes close to the 5.9 or 6.7 Cummins is the 7.3L PowerStroke.
The old interiors sucked ass. They were chiseled from a giant block of grey plastic. The new interiors are pretty pimp.

Why do people buy 1st gen Tacomas. All they do is have rusty frames. Why do people buy 2nd gen Tacomas? They've gotten "too big" for a midsize truck and the manual transmissions suck. /sarcasm

You can find common problems for any vehicle you don't like and question why people buy them. I love my Tacoma, but it's far from a perfect vehicle. I have nothing against the Rams. I never really liked them prior to the current generations, but the new ones are very nice. A friend of mine had a 2011 4x4 Sport quad cab. Had the 5.7L and the chrome 20's. In white it was an absolutely great looking truck. I'd consider a new Ram (just behind an F150) if I were buying a new truck.

I'd also disagree with the over the top assessment that all Mopar is junk. Maybe have been very cheap just a few years ago, but the brand new products coming out over the last year or so are very good. The redesigned Charger, 300, and Grand Cherokee are all very nice. If I wanted an SUV I'd have a Grand Cherokee Limited or Overland. Beautiful interior IMO and nicest SUV on the market to me (if you don't want something to wheel in which case I wouldn't want one).

I'm still waiting to see how long that original timing belt is going to last since she never changed it. I hear so many scary stories, I'm wondering if it's all hype. And to think I just changed my timing belt with 120k miles when I was told it should have been done at 95k. Dang Acura dealership! Lies, I'm telling you! LIES!!!

I had a 1997 Dodge Dakota that I bought new , I would still be driving it if I wasnt rear ended last April , at that time it had 130,000 mile and I never had a problem , it ran greathhad a 5.2 liter magnum motor , it was a great truck , stoped better , was more comfortable and had a better ride than the 2011 tacoma I have now, I like the Tacoma alot but only time will tell if I will grow to like it as much .
