$1400.00 for 2 headlights and I bought a 1967 , 4 door Malibu with a strong 283 for $200.00 back when . The paint was all faded but only had 50k miles on her .

I think the TRD PRO lit up like that looks odd.

Not impressed with the quality of my OEMs (not referring to output). This is not the first time someone has posted peeling associated with them. Vehicle has never been garaged but this would make me VERY hesitant to spend the premium on the new pros or OR's headlight that have the same dumb shape and the same materials. A shape that let's the elements have their way with these. Heard you can get them "re-cleared" but not sure if that's true. Waiting until they look like complete shit before I do anything. Well on their way though.

any polycarbonate lens you can "reclear". You don't even really need to reclear, just add sealant on every 6 months or so. But if you want to, it's just clear polyurethane that's been diluted with mineral spirits.

In cases of peeling or clouding you can use a kit that 3m sells, which is basically just sand paper, and some polish and polishing drill attachment.

Honestly I would do it now, since you only have a small spot instead of the whole headlight.

Sweet, good news. I'll look into that thanks. I've seen restoring kits but thought it was for "clouding". Haven't seen a kit for peeling, but honestly never really investigated. Seems it would be the same process though. Thanks again!

I'm not disagreeing with either of you, but it's just a personal preference and an opinion I developed from chatting with a Toyota rep (not at a dealership) on the new 2020 TRD Pro lines. They said they were trying to make things more exclusive for the TRD Pros, and he specifically directed it at the headlights. To see them open parts that were intended for the Pro line for anyone to purchase is just contradictory to their perceived outlook.

It would be a bummer if they locked it to the 2020s, but I'd move on from it. Small things like this is what makes people who really care about the latest features trade in their vehicles after driving it for a year.

Sounds like you got manipulated by the rep, I know people want to feel all special, but it's just a Tacoma.

This is retarded. 95% of the people in this country dont know or care about the difference between tacomas. It has zero impact on you or anyone else who owns a pro. It isnt a special vehicle. It is a trim line.

Although they may be able to copy us, it will never be a "true" pro and its associated growth in e-peen.

The days of "exclusive" cars for the masses are over. These manufacturers know that as long as the masses keep drinking the koolaid, they can keep pumping out more. Most of these trucks, pro or not will be in the scrap heap by the time they get to collectable age. All these proprietary electronics will be their crippling defeat. They are no longer made with the same pride or care as before. Just enjoy the truck. If you are young enough, its definitely not the last one you will have.

Now BRB while i steal someones vin so i can upgrade my "best year'" "no stupid TSS" 2017 pro headlights and further ruin the 2020s exclusivity.

How exclusive are the "Pro's"? Does the VIN # actually call it out as a PRO?

They don't make it in high numbers, but it doesn't sell enough to warrant higher numbers either. If you want one, you can get one, you may have to wait awhile or drive to get the color you want and such.

Looking up the info provided by the VIN will give you all sorts of info on the truck including which trim model you purchase such as if it is a pro, sport, sr, and such. It will also let you know about some accessories. The infamous Toyota tri fold tonneau cover is part of the info spit out by the VIN and why they won't pull a tonneau cover off another truck to put on the truck you want to buy. A lot of info about the truck is tied to the VIN.
