Your problem is when you go through deep water and get stuck in it due to mud at the base. If you're on flooded concrete, you will be okay most of the time.

I got stuck in muddy water just barely higher than the bottom of the door opening, got less than an inch of water in the cab and couldn't drive the truck for 2 weeks. Had to take the seats out, pull the carpet up and let it all dry for over a week. The smell was awful...

When crossing water, you want a full set of skids, then hit it at about 90 mph and skip across it like a flat stone. Let me know how that work out for you.

You don't buy a truck for its fucking fenders!
    2.5" lift w/35's
Short answer is yes a 2 inch lift will let you cross 2 inches deeper in water. Long answer is if you're really worried about that you should buy a snorkel. Not a shitty cheap one, but a real snorkel that is water tight. And you might want to replace your interior carpet with vinyl lol. Those will do a lot more to protect the truck than a 2 inch lift will. The intake on these trucks is in the wheelwell so your tire will throw water up into it. Even a foot or 2 of water will make its way into the intake if you're not careful.

You just need a vehicle that floats in water, problem solved.

A Tesla doesn't need a lift. It has submarine mode.

Yep. Its a great idea actually, you just replace damaged area with the new board, easy peasy.
