Yeah those GS’s are big girls. Had two KTM 950s on there, but they aren’t as wide as the Bimmers.

Mine is a Big Tex 30SA. They come with a fold down ramp gate, I optioned to leave it off. Believe someone else was mentioning about a folding trailer.

    https://www.bigtextrailers.com/30sa-single-axle-utility

Went that route over a three rail, since I tend to do a lot of home projects too.

Its not on the movable cleats but the steel square ring on the side wall.

If that's a Gixxer, it shouldn't be a problem with a 500lb tongue weight...but with those headlights, it looks like a Yamaha or Kawi.

Id also recommend the trailer route. My vstar barely fit my Mazda with 6 foot bed. Wouldn't even try with my short bed. Also my bike is heavy and I'm very short. Not a great combo with a taller truck:pout:20211007_113628.jpg

Putting a bike in the bed of a truck sucks. It really sucks, even with very good ramps. Doing it with an unfamiliar bike would be a nightmare. A trailer is a WAY better system and you can easily and cheaply rent one.

I echo the comments about bikes. All kinds of recommendations here but I’ll throw my voice behind a SV650. Great bikes, cheap parts, TONS of forums and support, and you can say you are a racer (they are a super popular race bike)

to be honest though, the absolute most fun I had on a bike was a 28hp XL650 dirt bike with good street tires. Riot to flick around, flicked in and out of traffic, and wasn’t afraid of damaging $1k of plastics if you put the kickstand down wrong. If I had to do it again it would be a 650R or a Husaberg fe450/570. Highway did suck with 28hp and no windscreen, but the riding was awesome

Personally I wouldn't trust those either. I second adding some to the bed bolts. Cheap and easy insurance.

Its a gsxr, pretty light for a street bike with no gas its like 380 pounds, 415 wet.

Or be running the 1/8th mile, with a new rider behind the wheel. Under 9 seconds all day with an exception to the stall outs at launch!

#Thread. Had to bring for service and warranty check up before its expired Saturday, Loading a bigger bike is quite a pain, go with the trailer recommended, almost had it fall on me and loaded 100+ bikes.

Dirt bikes fit fine with a short bed so I'm sure a sport will as well. Just get the bed extender to hold all of your other stuff in like gas cans, gear bag, ramp etc.

No it won't fit. It won't fit in a 5' bed, and if it could it would be taller than the cab so it won't fit under any cover.

You also shouldn't use a bed extender for a bike that heavy. You don't want that much weight bouncing on the tailgate.

Even if it did fit in the bed, there's no way a newbie is loading a 1k bike up and down a ramp into a truck bed.

Also also, a 1k bike is the worst possible choice for a first bike. You'll learn nothing but bad habits, and become a really unsafe rider. Then when you have an emergency situation, you'll have way more throttle to control than you have the skill for.

OP, we love your enthusiasm and we love when our sport grows, so we do support you. The general public won't know if you're riding a liter bike, a 600, 500, 300, or even a 250. They only see HOW you ride. Please invest in training yourself, the modern sport bike comes from the factory with more ability than most riders will ever be able to match.
Good luck with your future adventures and keep us posted so we can be proud of you. Just post up in the motorcycle forum:
