does a snowplow void the warranty? Have a 2017 SR5 4x4 with 9000 miles on it and was wondering if you’d void your warranty.

Why would you plow with such a new truck? Get a beater and put a plow on it if you need.

Depends on the nature of the claim, and the dealer. I have a snow plow on a 2015 Taco I use at work. At 6000 miles, the crank bearing failed and did quite a bit of damage. Dealer repaired under warranty.

I am part owner of our business. He’s the majority owner. Truck is leased under my name with business paying for it. Would also do my Driveway but no work related plowing. And yes this is a real life question and no I’m not stupid. Didn’t expect to join a forum and have an answer like that.

You're the part owner of a business, you're smart enough to know that there is not a single person here who truly can answer that question is your leasing agency. Contact them and ask them, then as you know, get it in writing so it can be enforced.

I’m sure if you hit a snow
I’m sure hitting a snow plow will void your warranty

The ignore button works really well.
Anyway, you would be using the truck in a fashion not intended by the manufacturer, yes your warranty could be void. Keep in mind this will not void your entire warranty, just any claims related to possible issuues caused by plowing. This means that if your radio goes haywire it would be covered, but if you have a transmission issue, that could very easily be denied because of the extra strain put on those components.
Find an old ranger on Craigslist and use that for plowing, or pay the local kids to shovel it.
    How big is this driveway?

I’d check with your leasing agency. But I’m almost certain it would void the warranty as you’re modifying the vehicle out of designed specs. I guess that if anything were to go wrong with it you'd just need to take the plow off before taking it to the dealer. But I say have the company buy a beater truck for a couple thousand and use that to plow driveways. I look at it like this 35k truck being ruined vs a 2-3k truck being ruined. Besides does plowing the bosses driveway fall under your job description?

It's pretty simple... The answer is no, it will not void warranty as long as any modification required to install and operate as a plow is not the cause of any problems.
As to the lease, if you're going to return at the end of the lease agreement, the truck needs to be back in it's original condition.

I don't know what it takes to have a plow hardware added so consider the effort and mod required.

Can't you pay someone to do it? I feel like it's a lot of effort just to plow a driveway..

Having been on the forums here for just under a year, I've seen several "minor" accidents result in bent frames and totaled trucks. Sometimes it's shocking how little stress these frames can take. This is by design, though; the crumple zones have done very well to protect the occupants in head on collisions from what I've seen.

I would think a plow would be very risky on this Taco.

You're asking a website what will and will not void your warranty.

If you want an accurate answer talk to the dealer you bought it from.
The fuck is some cunts on a forum going to know about what's in your legal lease agreement?

Outside warranty aspect I don't get why you would want to plow with a Tacoma as they do not have much power to be plowing.

Pay someone or get a snow blower or something and do it.
For one or two driveways seems like a pretty expensive thing to put a plow on for.

It’s hard to imagine a 300# plow canlevered on the front of your truck, plus the added downforce and resistance wouldn’t mess up the frame of the truck or put extra strain on the transmission.

With a smaller plow meant for midsize trucks, a Tacoma or Colorado or whatever will plow small lots and drives just fine. That said I would NEVER attach a plow to any leased vehicle without a conversation with the leasing company first. The warranty might be the least of your worries if you don't. Just know that plowing is very hard on trucks. And I mean any brand/model including HD 3/4 and 1 tons. I agree with the other folks, for your needs buy a beater or just pay a professional.

It’s not about the forces of driving around bro-style with a plow on the front ruining the frame. Using a plow is blade down against asphalt, bouncing off cracks, potholes, ice, rocks...finding curbs that were buried...plowing is not easy on a truck.

I second the recommendations for either a snow blower for a small job or a beater F150 for the plow.
