It bugs me when I hear things rattle. So I fix them when they surface. If you neglect it, after some time all vehicles loosen up and get noisy.

I could have told you that. You can hear even the body panels rattling when some of these goobers are in the lane next to you blasting rap profanity ... karma.

Miles of wash board roads at 50m.p.h. seem to have the same effect.

I have 110k, and the only rattle is from my dash right in the middle but there is a crack there so thats the reason for the rattle.

I have 126,000 miles on my 09 and it has no issues. What it really comes down to is how well you take care of your truck.

    Sean73t,

As hard as you might try, an 09 is hardly worth saying the maintnence when its barely three years old. Add ten and let me know how it goes.

Age is also a factor, but the mileage put on the truck is nothing to gawk out. I've witnessed cars with less then 50k and under 5yrs old that are already starting the signs of falling apart.

Cars don't fall apart by simply getting old, they need to be driven as well;)

my 06 with 90k miles rattles and squeaks a lot, but offroading has probably not helped that situation.

My only complaint with my 2010 with 16000 miles is the squeaky clutch pedal....

Had ~110K on my 2005 when I traded it in last month (for a 2012 Tacoma, naturally), and there were no noticeable rattles at all. Compared to a my brand new truck, it definitely looked it's age, but it drove pretty much as it did when I took it off the lot in '05.

Only reason I traded it in was because I had just blown the a/c compressor and condenser, and frankly buying a new Tacoma just seemed like more fun than spending money to fix the old one! (Truth be told, I was already planning on upgrading this summer anyway  ).

    Old thread huh?... ha.

My 05 has about 75000 and today I was really getting pissed at how many squeaks, creeks and pops there were on the forest service road. Makes me wonder how our FJ with 92000 is so much tighter.

I have 86K+ on mine and it is extremely tight with the exception of the occasional leaf pack squeak. However it doesn't bother me all that much. All in all, a quality ride.
