Does an additional 1" of ground clearance really make a difference?

Rub the tires you have now the right way and you may just get that extra inch out of them. Be gentle.

This silver pipe, unsure of what it is. right next to the crossmember, hangs down to the height of the rear diff, maybe even further. Does a suspension lift raise the crossmember and whatever this pipe is?
Also those things below the crossmember hang pretty far down too

Your lift kit gives you zero added ground clearance. You have .5 inch more ground clearance with 265/75 as opposed to stock 265/70.

That is the blow off tube for the turbo. Hold down your emergency flasher to engage.

Wow, how did you flatten that? Its so banged up already!

I’m kidding.... You are correct, it certainly doesn't look good the first time you see it, right? Besides better offroad tires, consider a reroute of that for more clearance because that crossover exhaust is the first thing to get hit on rocks if you want to be doing any off-roading over rougher terrain.

No you don't. Your suspension lift did not increase the height of the lowest points of your truck. You gained 1.5" that looks like lift in your wheel wells from the lift and actually gained .5" of real lift from your tires.

Clearance is nice, but more importantly big tires roll over obstacles better. If you look at the real off-roaders, they aren't running big lifts and big tires, they're running modest lifts with lots of travel and big tires.

And allows to drop pressure meaning more sidewall before hitting the wheel.

My experience is that these things make the most difference in order of importance as far as slow speed off road performance.

    4wd (duh)
    Tire compound and thread pattern
    Tire diameter
    Ride height
Off-road traction control (highly under appreciated)
    Locking diffs

Edit: tire width might be important too, but I personally have not experimented with it

Fix’d it. Sorry for the sarcasm. You have to admit though, those crossover exhaust pipes look damaged and accidentally flattened fresh off the lot.

Then I'm not sure it's really appropriate to call whatever you are doing 'wheeling'.

Form over function will never a good wheeler make.

Tip. Don't touch it after a drive. And it can be relocated. (Toyota dummied up here)
