Ok I have a 2009 4x4 regular cab with the 5 speed transmission. My problem is that there is this ringing noise while I'm idling or driving. I think I narrowed it down to something with the clutch because when I press it in it stops can some one help thanks

Its the carrier bearing. If you are under 36k miles go to the dealership and get it replaced under the TSB.

I dont think its the carrier bearing. It would still make the noise when I push the clutch in and it does it when I'm parked

Yeah i get a slight ringing sometimes around 2000rpm. No idea why. I got the 6speed manual. You need to listen to hear it.

    Should i tell the dealer?

It really does sound like a throwout bearing to me... when the clutch is disengaged it won't make noise... my G35 did this all the time... more of a superficial issue than anything. (unless you get cracking and stuff like the 6 spds have been)

This def sounds like a throwout bearing. Yes it will wear out. It will eventually sieze and then guess what? No go for you. If your truck still has a warranty I would get it fixed ASAP. Better now than later when YOU have to pay for it.

My throwout bearing has been a nuisance for about 6 months now. How much is the replacement? I asume the only way to replace is to pull down the bell housing.
