I'm going to look into a small rubber seal shim on the rear of the rails tomorrow, my gap is similar but perhaps a little less than Rambeaux

Yeah, I took a little too much off right there. I'll eventually get around to sealing it.

Did you have to mess with the tensioner units to get them to fit?

Tensioners were pre set and did not require any adjustment on mine

Is there any seal at all at the last 6 inches? Also on second pic what is the piece of rubber that is hanging loosely down?

TacoBella, where did you order from? Don't see any Truxedo Lo Pro's available yet. Very interested in how well the rails fit, especially at the rear of the bed. Any pics after the install would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks TacoBella. Pics of your install if not too much trouble would greatly be appreciated. Especially sealing areas of the rails. The rear seems to be the biggest problem.

There was a seal there but I ruined it in the trimming. I should have removed it first. As for the rubber hanging down, it's on both side and I believe it helps keep everthing together when it's stowed.

Looked at the TruXedo Lo Pro videos, seems too easy to install. I'm interested and look forward to more posts on these. Thanks for AutoAnything- lots of Tacoma parts.

This is the area of the bed that caused me to start this post in the first place. I like alot of the flush mount options like the gator-fx3, backflip VP and many others. But looking at all the web sites, they all have rails that fit flush inside the bed the whole way to the tail gait. Not sure how this is accomplished with the flair in the '16 Tacoma bed as shown above. This seems to be an issue with the Access cover's rails that I really like. Haven't seen Truxedo install at this area yet, although I think some posts are coming. Does Any body know how the flush mounts like the Bakflip VP handles this with their rail sealing inside the whole way back? Appreciate any pics people have been posting, especially the install at this area of the bed. If I am becoming to anal, sorry. Just trying to make an informed decision and hopefully help others.

That's why they had to redesign it. I have not seen one yet. The gator just released the fx3 yesterday. I'm waiting for the fx5 or vp.

I really like the look of the VP. Just wonder with no way to stretch the vinyl, will it start to show bad creases where it folds up.

I'm going to give an endorsement for the Solid Fold 2.0, once I made positioning adjustments it's stayed very dry even in a few days of good rain. I still get drips of water into the bed but I have a bed mat and the top of that has stayed almost completely dry. I don't expect any tonneau to be completely waterproof, especially with the design of the bed. Well maybe the full fiberglass tonneau but I didn't want that type of cover!

The cover does need to sit closer to the cab than I would've thought originally. I also noticed that a few of the rubber "fins" (for lack of a better word) on the underside of the cover near the hinges that contact the bed rails were folded over so I straightened those out so they lied flat. I also played with how tight the clamps are and found that if you do tighten too much it pulls down on the cover and causes it to lift the edges, and if it's too loose the gaskets don't seal enough.

It was simply playing around with the installation and finding that perfect spot where it keeps the majority of the water out of the bed! I'm happy with the cover now that I've taken the time to figure out the variables. And really it's not ridiculously time consuming, it's just making adjustments when you think too much water is getting into the bed.
