I'd say it's a little less than a foot at the front of the bed, but it hasn't impeded me from loading most things that would fit in the bed without the cover installed. I used wingnuts on the cover itself so I could remove it quickly if it was in the way. All in all, I'm very happy with the cover. If I have a chance later, I'll grab a photo.

I'm not writing rave reviews about it, but it does the job at a decent price... I actually treat it pretty roughly (no signs of wear to date) and the contents of my bed are dry all the time in a pretty wet Houston.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My factory cover leaks real bad, on the rightside at front fold and the leftside at the rear fold. Any ideas ?

Are you sure it's locked correctly? It's a 2-stage catch. The first stage lightly locks it and the second stage locks it down pretty dang tight. Also, the seals over the folds may need replaced. I think there was an issue with some early ones.

May require re-positioning. No leaks from my OEM tonneau cover. Pull out the bolt, unsnap both sides, make sure hear two clicks on each latch, reinstall bolt.

Pace Edwards electric bedlocker. Can't say enough about how great this cover is. I had one on my 2012 too.image.jpgimage.jpg

How much of the bed is eaten up by that when it's retracted? How easy is it to remove if I want to use the full bed, say for putting a motorcycle in back?

You lose about 10in in length and 8 inches in depth with the cover retracted. I have never removed it once installed so I cant speak to the ease of removal.

Just called Truxedo about the Truxport. They don't have a release date yet, but thinking it might be another month or two.

I'll probably go with the Lo Pro QT although I hate to spend an extra $200 when the Truxport would probably be just fine.

So I discovered if you close the tailgate first then shut the factory tonneau cover that it seals almost 100%. I still got some minor drips into the bed but overall, it held well. I noticed if I close the tailgate first it presses against the weather stripping and pushes the cover up a little.

    Hey guys,

I was curious if anyone has tried installing a tonneau from a 2nd gen onto a 3rd gen?

I'm looking at trading in the '11 for a '16. Both are 6 foot boxes. It appears that the new box has the same top dimension as the old box. Furthermore my current tonneau (extang Trifecta) mounts using the factory rail system. The 3rd gen rail system looks the same. Has anyone tested this out? I may see if the dealer will let me attempt to mount my old tonneau on the new truck.

I was also curious if anyone has tried a 2nd gen bed extender on a 3rd? Again, I don't see any reason this shouldn't fit.

Anyone using a bakflip know if rock mounts would still be accessible on the front rail?

Just installed a Lo Pro last night on my AC, fits great. I had one and loved it on my Tundra so I stuck with them.

Fyi, I have been treated great by vendor at Tundra forums on both purchases, not sure I can give a name but I can provide an email address anyone wants.

Slam won't do it. You have to compress the rubber gasket

I usually click the first stage of the rear latches, close the tailgate, and then push down on each side directly over the latch post. You will hear a second audible click on each side that will compress the gasket and make it really tight.

I thought the same thing when I first got it, and it looked like crap with the back up slightly...'till I noticed how it worked.:D
