OP, my key fob sucks like yours, and it sucked from day 1. Sometimes it works okay, other times i feel like the battery is on its last leg. Distance be damned. But compared to key fobs from other manufactures that I’ve had, it leaves much to be desired.

It's the one thing about my 2020 Honda Civic that I miss. I live on a 2nd floor apartment, facing far away from the vehicle. I'd hit the remote start button and the car would start every time. My Tacoma.. I have to go downstairs, go outside and walk up to the truck for it to start. Just gross lol
