Does anyone actually like the chrome rear bumper?

I live in the midwest, so rust was a concern. I spent a few hours filing and sanding to clean up the cuts, and then did a POR-15 3 step rust preventative coating. I added the trim that ATH provided and to help protect the POR-15 coating from chipping. I also use Fluid Film every fall and made sure to spray the inside seam of the trim (from underneath the bed) so some of it seeps in there. No issues so far after ~2 winters. I'd have to remove the bumper to take the trim off completely to look underneath, might be a project for the summer to see how it's holding up.

I don't like it. But it blends in well enough with my silver Tacoma that I'm not going to bother with caps.

If I had any other color, I would have quickly addressed it.

 

Hello everyone, bought my 23 Taco TRD OFF ROAD used with slightly damaged rear bumper. Instead of fixing it I'm thinking to spend $ for a steel bumper. Can anyone point me to aftermarket manufacturer rear bumper options, also those of you that went aftermarket how difficult is to reattach trailer socket to an aftermarket bumper?

I liked the look of the chrome, 1st time I saw them, but realizing they were just plastic, I would never have upgraded to them.

Much happier with my steel bumper (although I have to touch up the rust every spring)....
